when installing hitch
1.
Lower forward underbody panel – using a 10mm socket, remove (19) screws & flat washers holding the forward underbody panel to the rear underbody panel. NOTE: There are (4)
screws located in the wheel well area, horizontally, (2) per side. NOTE: DO NOT remove the (3) forward most screws from panel. Support the panel as needed.

Remove hitch access panel – Using a flat screw driver, remove (2) push pin rivets and remove hitch access panel.
3a. Remove fascia – Using a T30 torx bit, remove (2) screws from the rear underbody panel.
b.) Using a 10mm socket, remove (2) flange nuts from the wheel well liner, both sides.
c.) Using a flat screw driver, remove (2) push pin rivets from wheel well liner, both sides.
d.) Using a T25 torx bit, remove (1) screw located vertically in the upper area fascia behind the wheel well liner, both sides.
e.) Using a plastic trim panel tool, remove the lower part of wheel well trim by unclipping the tabs from fascia and gently pulling on trim.
f.) Open the rear liftgate. Remove the (2) plastic liftgate bump stops.
g.) Using a plastic trim panel tool, lift the molding near bump stop, and using a 10mm socket, remove (1) screw per side holding the fascia.
h.) Using a plastic trim panel tool, remove the fascia starting at the outer edges near wheel wells, and gently pulling the fascia.
i.) Disconnect the (2) wiring harnesses and set fascia aside.

Remove bumper beam – using a 15mm socket, remove (8) flange nuts, (4) per side. Remove the bumper beam and return to vehicle owner.

Trim fascia - using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, cut a notch in the lower part of the fascia underbody panel approximately 3-1/2" wide x 2-1/2" deep, centered on
vehicle as shown. See Figure 2.
6.
Install hitch - Raise hitch into position aligning holes in hitch with studs on end panel. Loosely reinstall the existing (8) hex flange nuts onto bumper studs, (4) per side. See Figure 1.
7.
Tighten all CL10 hex flange nuts with torque wrench to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M)
8.
Reinstall the fascia, wiring, and all trim using the original hardware removed in steps 1, 2, and 3. Be sure to reconnect all wiring harnesses.
9.
Trim hitch access panel – using a tape measure, marker, and a utility knife, cut a notch in hitch access panel approximately 3-1/2" wide x 4-1/2" deep. See Figure 3.
* Or return hitch access panel and (2) push pin rivets to vehicle owner.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
