Bolts
1.
Remove the tie downs and return to vehicle owner.
2.
Detach rubber isolator from exhaust hanger bracket.
3.
Remove the carbon canister: Figure 2.
A. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the canister (pinching the top and pulling to separate the connectors).
B. Disconnect the hose by pinching the release button on the collar and pulling the hose off.
C. Remove the (4) fasteners that hold the canister in place. Two bolts located on the spare tire well and two nuts located closer
to the center of the canister (clips hold the canister in place and require pulling or gentle prying).
D. Lower the canister allowing it to hang out of the way. Canister can not be completely removed.

Remove two (2) inboard E.A. bolts, one (1) per side from E.A. unit (See Figure 1).

Position hitch on vehicle and attach with two (2) M10 bolts provided with hitch, on the inboard side of E.A., one per side, as
shown in Figure 1.

Insert block and handle nut through access slot. Install hex bolt and conical toothed washer through side arm, frame and block
into handle nut as shown.
Ensure that handle nut can be easily threaded onto bolt before installation.
7.
Tighten bolts to specified torque:
Tighten all M10 CL9.8 fasteners with torque wrench to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N*M)
Tighten all ½-13 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
8.
Reattach rubber isolator to exhaust hanger bracket.
9.
Reinstalling the carbon canister: Figure 2.
A. Place the hose through the 1-1/2" diameter access hole in the hitch bracket. Reconnect the hose to the canister.
B. Slide the canister back into place under spare tire well while aligning with the two (2) bolts on the rail.
C. Push the canister onto the bolts and secure with hex nuts.
D. Tighten the bolts on the bottom of the spare tire well.
E. Reconnect the electrical connectors to the canister.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.
