Fig. G
This figure shows the cable layout for the case that PIN18 and PIN35 of X1170 are used
Insulate branches C5 and C6 of auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C, with shrink-fit tubing as described under
Fig. L and tie back in the area of the front right sill (rocker panel).
On left-hand drive vehicles, route branches C3 and C4 from auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C to the strip
connector box behind the glovebox (excess length must be tied back) and as described under Fig. L connect to strip
connectors X10183 and X10184.
On right-hand drive vehicles, route branches C3 and C4 of auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C behind the
heater box to the left to the strip connector box behind the glovebox, secure with cable straps and, as described
under Fig. L connect to strip connectors X10183 and X10184.

This figure shows the cable layout for the case that PIN18 of X1170 is used and PIN35 of X1170 is not used
a
The cover is to be removed from the control unit box on the right in the engine compartment before
installing the cable.
c
Route branches C5 and C6 of auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C, as described under Fig. J and Fig. K , through
the leadthrough grommet in the bulkhead, front right, into the control unit box and from here further to the ABS
hydraulic unit.
Connect only branch C5, 1-pin blade terminal contact, as described under Fig. K, to black 42-pin plug connector
X1170 at PIN35 of ABS hydraulic unit.
Insulate branch C6, 1-pin blade terminal contact with shrink-fit tubing as described under Fig. L and tie back.
On left-hand drive vehicles, route branches C3 and C4 of auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C to the strip
connector box behind the glovebox (excess length must be tied back).
On right-hand drive vehicles, route branches C3 and C4 of auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C behind the
heater box to the left to the strip connector box behind the glovebox and secure with cable straps.
Insulate branch C3, 1-pin blade terminal contact with shrink-fit tubing as described under Fig. J and tie back.
Connect branch C4 only, 1-pin blade terminal contact, as described under Fig. L, to strip connector X10184.

b
This figure shows the installation on a left-hand drive vehicle, the identical procedure should be followed for
right-hand drive vehicle.
Route auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C together with branches C5 and C6, through leadthrough grommet (64)
in bulkhead, front right, to control unit box in engine compartment and secure with cable straps.
For insulation purposes, fit a piece of shrink-fit tubing (35) on branch C3, 1-pin blade terminal contact, yellow/red
wire, and on branch C4, 1-pin blade terminal contact, yellow/white wire, of auxiliary wiring harness for navigation C
and shrink fit with hot air blower.
Now tie back branches C3 and C4 in area of front right sill (rocker panel) with cable straps (32).
