Chameleon 2x2
NB: ENSURE BEFORE INSTALLING THE
UNIT THAT THE SURFACE FROM WHICH
IT IS TO BE SUSPENDED IS CAPABLE OF
SUPPORTING THE WEIGHT. You will require
two chains, of sufficient length and suitable
gauge to support at least 15 kg each (not
supplied). See "Installation". Select the
optimum position for unit. (see "Siting").
Attach the chains to the point from which
the unit is to be suspended. Place the clips
or chain through the suspension brackets
located on either side of the lid to ensure
the unit hangs level. Secure the power cord
to a firm surface prior to connecting to the
supply.
RENEWING STICKY BOARDS
Switch off the machine before servicing.
Sticky boards should be changed when
full or at least every 6-8 weeks.
Ensure PestWest glue boards are used
as replacements.

Chameleon Uplight (see fig.1)
Remove the used sticky board from the
machine by pulling out of the Uplight cover.
The front cover of the unit may be swivelled
on the two lower fixings. Push the cover
upwards approximately 15mm and allow it
to swing forward and down. Care should be
observed when the cover is rotated down as
the old sticky board may slide out. Remove
the backing paper from the new board. Insert
the new board edges under the guides and
sticky side facing the tube. Refit the front
cover, ensuring that the top two nuts are
secure in the two channels either side of the
unit.

Remove the catch tray by pulling out and
holding the spring-loaded silver knob on
the side of the tray. Remove the old sticky
board(s) by pulling down and out of the
machine. Remove the backing paper from
the new board and slide into position in the
machine, sticky side facing the UV tubes,
ensuring they click into place under the
sprung retainers at the top of the machine.
Replace catch tray.

REPLACEMENT PARTS

The sticky board in all models is PestWest
BOACHA850. Tube type in all models is
Quantum BL TUB15W490.
CHANGING THE TUBES
Chameleon Uplight
Grasp the tube and rotate in either direction
(90o). After 2 clicks are heard, the tube may
be removed by sliding out of the lamp holder.
Fitting the new tube is a reversal of the
above procedure
Chameleon 1x2 and 2x2
A similar procedure for changing the tubes in
both units is used, except the guard on the
Chameleon 1x2 pivots at the bottom and the
guards on the Chameleon 2x2 pivots at the
top. The procedure should also be repeated
on the reverse side of the Chameleon 2x2
model.
Remove the catch tray and open the
chromium guard on the front of the
machine. This pivots downwards (upwards
on Chameleon 2x2 unit) from its lower
edge (upper edge on Chameleon 2x2). The

Take your tube and line up the two leading edges of the Reflectobakt
with the pairs of pins at either end of the tube. Ensure that the sleeve is fitted
centrally to the tube so that the small gap between the end of the sleeve and
the metal end of the tube is the same at both ends. Carefully push the sleeve
so it is in contact along the length of the tube surface. It should grip and stay
in position. Re-fit the tube into the unit rotating tube through 90

the sticky board, reducing the amount of
UV striking the board, and significantly
increasing the life of the adhesive. It is
important that when you put tube(s) in
the units, the Reflectobakt
positioned directly between the sticky board
and the emitting surface of the tube.
