The DRESTER RDX is made in two shapes, the RDX 8012 and the RDX 9012. The first detail that
seperates the two is a bag of fittings containing an airvalve with a red or yellow airline attached.
If the hose is yellow, the RDX is designed to be combined with the Gun Cleaner 8000 eller 3600.
If the hose is red, the RDX is designed to be combined with the Gun Cleaner 9000 eller 9000-TT.
The second difference is that the RDX 8012 also contains a hood that covers the pumps and hoses of the
RDX.
In order to secure a smmoth installation the following details should be prepared in advance:
1. If the RDX is to be combined with the DRESTER 8000, it has to be equipped with the baseplate
8195 and NOT with the collecting tray 6642.
2. An outlet with clean and dry compressed air of 7-12 (110-180 psi) bar is needed where the Gun
Cleaner is to be placed.
3. An outlet with clean and dry compressed air of 3-10 (50-150 psi) bar is needed where the recycler is
to be placed.
4. Airlines and fittings for an internal ¼" thread have to be supplied by the customer.
5. 60 liters of solvents has to be at hand on the installation in order to top up the system.
6. Make sure that the installation does not conflict with any local fire legislation.
7. Engage an authorized electrician for the installation of the recycler.
8. Plan to use one afternoon and one visit the morning after for the installation.
The gun cleaner and the recycler are installed first, according to their attached instructions. Please note that
the recycler must be installed by an authorized electrician.
The docking unit is installed next, according to the attached instruction.
IF THE RECYCLER I S PLACED AT A DISTANCE FROM THE GUN CLEANER
If the recycler is not placed next to the gun cleaner, two pipes of either copper or stainless steel have to be
installed between the positions of the machines. Please note that pipes made of copper eventually may give
the solvent a greenish colour, which is why stainless steel is a better choise. The pipes must have an outer
diameter of 12 mm, and be approved for a pressure of 4 bar (60 psi). The installation of the pipes should be
executed by a professional. The pipes have to be placed so that they cannot be damaged. The distance
between the destillator and the gun cleaner should be max 25 meters. The pipes may not be placed any
higher than 3 meters above the destillator and the gun cleaner.
It is extraordinarily important that no leakage can arise, since flammable solvent will be pumped through the
pipes. The pipe intended for clean solvent should be marked with white paint in both ends, and the pipe
intended for dirty solvent should be marked with black in both ends. This in order to avoid confusion when
the pipes are further connected to the hoses of the docking unit later on.
A pipe for compressed air needs to be installed next to the solvent pipes. The pipe should be approved for 10
bar (150 psi), and be equipped with valves in both ends. The valves should be fitted with internal ¼" threads
on the outlets.
Fittings for the docking unit is then fitted to each end of the pipes. The ordernumber for these fittings is
DRESTER "PIPING KIT 10810".
