• The capacity of the air conditioner must fit the room
size where it is installed for efficient and satisfac-
tory operation.
• Close the fireplace damper and any floor or wall reg-
isters so cool air does not escape through chimney or
ductwork.
• Operate any heat producing appliances during the
coolest times of the day (night or early morning).

NIGHTTIME COOLING

When outside temperatures drop below 60 F (16 C)
and the unit is cooling, frost may form on the coils and
block airflow into the room. If this occurs, operate the
air conditioner on the Hi Fan Only setting to defrost
the coil.
If cooling is desired while outside temperature is low,
make sure the louvers are open to help prevent frost
build up.

FRESH AIR VENT CONTROL

The Fresh Air Vent allows the air conditioner to recir-
culate inside air (OFF position), draw outside air into
the room (FRESH AIR position), or exhaust room air
to the outside (VENT position). Any position can be
used with any fan selection.
NOTE: Fresh Air Vent control is not available on
73ACA051T and 73ACA061T models.
The OFF position is used for maximum cooling. Push
the vent control all the way in for the OFF position.

FIGURE 5 — VENT CONTROL OFF POSITION
The FRESH AIR position allows outside air to be
drawn into the room to refresh the inside room air.
Pull out the vent control halfway for the FRESH AIR
position. See Fig. 6.
The VENT position removes stale inside air from the
room and exhausts it to the outside. Pull the vent con-
trol all the way out for the VENT position. See Fig. 7.
