MAINTENANCE

CLEAN FILTER

Normally, the air filter should be cleaned every
30 days. The filter is highly efficient in removing
airborne particles. More frequent cleaning may be
required in areas with low outdoor and indoor air
quality. Trapped particles in the filter can build up and
cause an accumulation of frost on the cooling coils. The
Check Filter feature is provided as a reminder to clean
the filter.
To remove the filter, grasp the tabs on the sides of the
front grille and tilt open the filter door. See Fig. 8.
Remove the filter. See Fig. 9. The filter may be vacu-
umed or washed by hand in warm water. Dry the filter
completely after washing. Replace the air filter by
placing it back into position and pushing the front
grille back into position.
CARE OF THE REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control should last indefinitely with proper
care. Do not expose the remote control to direct heat.
Do not spill liquids or place heavy objects on the
remote control. Make sure the signal from the remote
control to the air conditioner is unobstructed.
REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY
REPLACEMENT
If the remote control stops working, the batteries
should be replaced. The batteries used are AA size
batteries.

CLEAN FRONT GRILLE

Be sure to unplug air conditioner before cleaning or
removing front grille. The front grille may be cleaned
after it is removed from the air conditioner. Wash the
grille by hand with warm water and a mild soap. Be
sure to thoroughly dry the grille before reinstalling.

WINTER STORAGE

If you plan to store the air conditioner during the win-
ter, remove it carefully from the window according to
the installation instructions. Return it to the original
carton or cover with plastic.
To prevent rust or damage, store the air conditioner in
a dry place and in an upright position. A winter cover
can be purchased from your dealer. A winter cover will
protect the air conditioner if it is left in place during
the winter.
