IDENTIFICATION, PACKAGING, TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

1.3 LIFTING AND HANDLING

Packed pumps may be lifted and moved with forklift trucks or
lifting equipment (Fig.10).
Before starting operations, check the packaging or pump for
special handling instructions.

The selected equipment must be suitable for lifting and safe handling, taking into
account the dimensions and weights specified on the packaging.

Handling may only be done by experienced and authorised personnel.
1.4 STORAGE
Packages must always be stored in covered, dry and sheltered areas, at tem-
peratures between –10°C and +40°C, avoiding direct exposure to sun radia-
tion.
In case of storage longer than 6 months, contact the manufacturer.
1.5 STACKING OF PACKAGES
The type of packaging used can be stacked in the warehouse or on truck decks in
different ways, depending on the packaging method and weight, as long as cor-
rectly arranged and secured against falling.
For larger packages, it is recommended to stack no more than 2 packages.
1.6 OPENING PACKAGES
Upon arrival, check parts for transport damage and make sure all the items listed in
the delivery note are there (report any anomalies or damage to the manufacturer).
Packages must be opened taking all precautions to prevent damage to people and
machine parts (prevent components from dropping out of boxes during opening).

1.7 PACKAGING DISPOSAL

The wood of the crate or pallet may be reused or recycled in compliance with the
laws in force in the country of installation of the pump. The other materials such as
straps, polystyrene, plastic must be disposed of in compliance with the laws in force
