Safety instructions

Wood-working machines can be dangerous if they are not used
properly. Therefore, always follow the safety instructions in this
section and the accident prevention regulations of your
employer's liability insurance association or the safety regula-
tions in force in the country where the machinery is being used.
Before starting work, always check that the safety devices and
operating devices are securely attached and not damaged.
Read the operating instructions and act accordingly.
Keep the operating instructions for use later on and for subse-
quent owners of the machine.
Follow the safety instructions and warning notice on the
machine.
NOTE:
The saw blade can inflict serious injury to fingers
and hands.
Set up the circular-saw bench so that it is stable on firm and level
ground. Make the ground level and keep the standing area free
from obstacles that may cause stumbling.
Provide adequate lighting conditions.
Never use the machine unless it is in perfect working order and
only use it in a proper, safety-conscious manner, being aware of
the dangers and in accordance with the operating instructions.
Only use circular saw blades made from high alloy tool steel
(chrome/vanadium) or hard alloy saw blades in accordance with
EN 847-1.
Saw blades made from High Speed Steel must not be used.
Only fit well-sharpened, crack-free, non-distorted saw blades.
Pay attention to the running direction of the saw blade.
Circular bench saws must not be used for sawing firewood.
Keep children away from machines connected to the mains
electricity supply.
The circular saw must not be operated by persons under
eighteen years old.
Keep the operating area of the machine free from waste wood
and sawdust.
Do not work on workpieces which overload or exceed the power
of the machine.
Only wear close-fitting clothes.
Remove rings, jewellery, bracelets and wristwatches.
Safety devices on the machine must not be removed or made
unserviceable.
The divider plate must always be used except in the case of
recess cuts. It must be adjusted so that the distance between it
and the toothed rim of the saw blade is no more than 8 mm.
The saw-blade safety guard must always be used except in the
case of hidden cuts (grooves etc.). It must be adjusted so that
the toothed rim of the saw blade is covered as far as is neces-
sary to expose only that part of the blade needed for cutting the
wood.
Whenever the saw is used, the saw-blade safety guard must
always be aligned horizontally above the saw blade.
In the case of recess cuts, a safety device to prevent kick-back
must always be used (e. g. a back stop clamped firmly across
the saw table). After a recess cut, the divider plate and the upper
safety guard must be replaced immediately.
GB 3
When using feed devices, at least the divider plate must be used
as a safety device to prevent kick-back.
When making longitudinal cuts in narrow workpieces where the
distance between the saw blade and the fence is less than
12 cm, a push stick or something similar must be used.
Crosscuts must only be carried out using the cross-feed stop.
After switching off the motor, the saw blade must not be arrested
by applying side pressure.
Small off-cuts may be caught by the saw blade and flung out
from the machine.
Use the deflector.
When the sawdust starts emerging, replace the saw bench liner.
(Maximum saw gap 10 mm)
Do not leave the machine in the rain.
Do not use the machine in damp or wet environments or in the
vicinity of flammable liquids and gases.
During the following activities, switch off the motor, wait until the
saw blade has stopped turning and pull out the plug from the
mains:
• resetting or retooling, adjustment, measurement
and cleaning
• removing faults
• removing workpieces jammed in the machine and
• when leaving the machine.
Repairs and maintenance work on the electrical installation of the
machine must only be carried out by a trained electrician.
The sound level normally exceeds 85 dB(A).
Always wear ear defenders when working at the machine for long
periods.

Spare parts and accessories

Only genuine spare parts and genuine accessories from the
manufacturer must be used.
We reserve the right to change the design and construction.

Correct use

The circular-saw bench is designed exclusively for cutting wood
and wood-like materials.
Saw blades made from high alloy tool steel (chrome/vanadium)
or hard alloy saw blades must be used depending on the type of
cut and type of wood (solid timber, plywood or chipboard).
Dimensions of saw blade:
Thickness of divider plate:
Sawdust extraction
When working inside enclosed areas, the machine must be
connected to an extraction system. The extraction rate at the
extraction nozzle must be 20 m/s.
Size of connection at the saw blade safety guard:
Size of connection at the casing:
Ø 315 x 3.0 x Ø 30 [mm]
