Butane Gas - Soldering Iron 125 W

Note
Please read this instruction manual carefully before first operation of this
equipment.
It contains numerous notes with regard to the intended use of the device. Keep
this instruction for future reference.
The Soldering Iron must be filled with butane gas before first operation.
Safety Notes
Keep away from children.
Make sure to keep soldering tip always away from face and body
Use safety goggles
Unit contains flammable gas (butane) under pressure. Use the device carefully.
Do not expose to sun or temperatures higher than +50 °C for a longer period of
time
Take into consideration that torch flame is nearly invisible in daylight or other
light sources
Do not refill near open flames, heater or furnace
Only refill and use in well-ventilated area
Never leave the unit unattended when it is in operation or still hot
Always make sure the unit is cool before storing
Do not touch the tip of the soldering iron at the unit when in operation or still
hot
Do not replace cap without having switched off the device and made sure that
the tip has cooled.
Do not try to open or repair the soldering iron (loss of warranty resp. guarantee)
Refilling
Only use commercially available butane gas (FÖRCH Art.-Nr.: 5482 20 125)
Make sure the ON/OFF-switch is in OFF-position before refilling
Shake the refill can to allow the gas to warm slightly. Gas transfer is dependent
upon gravity
Soldering iron is filled as soon as you have a gas overflow. Wait min. 1 min. for
the gas to stabilize
Ignition and Operation
Screw on the catalyst cap with the selected tip or the hot air nozzle
Make sure that the air exhaust hole of the soldering tips for hot air is positioned
upwards
Set gas control level at mid position
Push the ON/OFF-switch upward in direction of the soldering tip to the max.
point to release the gas flow and ignite the soldering iron
Release the switch after ignition to stay in the ON-position and the soldering
iron to be on
After successful ignition the inside of the attachments will glow in orange
colour after 1 to 2 seconds
