to the cable on pin 2, cable colour
brown/grey/yellow.
B4 Connect the front right-hand door contact
switch branch, cable colour brown/blue,

brown/blue/yellow.
Cars from Series E 36/3/4 with base module only

A23 Cut the rear right-hand door contact switch,
cable colour brown/black, pin 4 and strip both
ends. Cut the rear left-hand door contact
switch, cable colour brown/white, pin 5 and strip
both ends. Crimp together cables (1) (pin 4)
and (2) (pin 5), coming from plug X13254 with
a contact socket. Connect a socket casing.
Crimp together cables (1) and (2), coming from
the standard wiring harness with a pin contact
and connect a plug casing. Connect branch A23
door contact switch at the rear.

There is one joint connector with a cable
colour of violet/white and one joint connector
with a cable colour of white/violet.
It must be ensured that in ignition key position I
(terminal 75), there is battery voltage at branch A5,
if necessary test this using a multimeter.

A22 Remove the boot contact switch branch cover
at the rear left-hand side of the boot, select
the cable, cable colour brown/white, and
connect it or remove the boot contact switch,
crimp the contact (1) to the boot contact
switch branch, connect it to the boot contact
switch (3) using the standard cable (2) and
install the boot contact switch (3).
Cars from Series E 36/5 with central locking
module only

A22 Lay the boot contact switch branch, cable
colour brown/white, on the right-hand side
of the car along the vehicle wiring harness
towards the rear to the right-hand tail light.
Disconnect the black 8-pin plug (1) from the
tail light unit (2). Release the plug (1) and
disconnect the cable to pin 3 or 4 (depending
on model year), cable colour brown/white.
Crimp branch A22 to the bridge cable (4) and
connect it to pin 3 or 4. Connect the cable (3),
cable colour brown/white, to the bridge
cable (4) using a 1-pin plug.
Cars from Series E 36/5 with base module only

A22 Lay the boot contact switch branch (4), cable
colour brown/white, to the base module (1).
Cut the cable to the required length.
Fit the cable with a twin lead terminal.
Cut the brown/white cable (3) from the plug (2)
X13254, pin 4. Crimp on a plug or socket
casing and install the casing. Connect up
branch A22 (4).
