LINE FEEDING
• In order to feed a length of cutting line, strike the bump cap on the
lawn while the trimmer is running. This will automatically feed a new
length of line and trim it to the correct length. A firm but gentle
motion should be used to strike the bump cap. The unit should be
angled slightly forward to prevent the guard from contacting the
ground. This process may be repeated as often as necessary.
• If unit fails to feed, remove the battery pack from the trimmer and
clean out the area around the spool. (See "Clearing Jams and
Tangled Lines".)
• Your trimmer uses .080 inches (2.032mm) diameter nylon line to cut
grass and weeds quickly and easily.
• The cutting line will wear faster if the cutting is done along sidewalks or
other abrasive surfaces or heavier weeds are being cut.
• For best performance, keep line fed out to maximum length.
CLEARING JAMS AND TANGLED LINES
From time to time, especially when cutting thick or stalky weeds, the
line feeding hub may become clogged with grass or other material and
the line will become jammed as a result. To clear the jam, follow the
steps listed below.
• Turn off the trimmer and remove the battery by releasing the locking
mechanism and pulling straight out (figure P).
• Remove the orange hub cap by pressing
in on the release tabs and popping one
side out of the spool housing and then the
other (figure Q).
• Lift the spool of nylon line out of the spool
housing and clear any broken line or
cutting debris from the spool area.
• Insert the line ends through the holes in
the spool housing, place the spool into
the spool housing and pull the excess
line out (figure R).
• Snap the hub cap back on as shown in
figure S, by depressing release tabs and pressing into spool
housing. NOTE: Make sure that cover is fully seated, listen for two
