Useage
Only use the fall arrest slider
or original FABA™ equipment.
Before ascending always ensure
that the carabiner for the slider is cor-
rectly attached to the chest loop of the
harness, closed and locked. Users must
wear the harness (EN 361) as tightly
fi tted as possible. Do not use harnesses
with elastic straps. If the belt loosens
when ascending and descending, it
must be adjusted again from a secured
position.
You must be particularly careful
in ambient and weather conditi-
ons where climbing safely is not
guaranteed. This includes, e.g. snow /
ice, live parts and other infl uences. Do
not use in potentially explosive areas.
The clearance below the feet of
the user must be at least 2 m.
Within the fi rst two meters the
user is eventually not protected against
hitting the ground so that special at-
tention during ascent resp. descent is
to be paid!
If it becomes necessary to release
the fall arrest slider from the
harness or a remove it from the
climbing protection rail (e.g. to detach
it from the climbing protection system
using the detachable catch), then the
user must protect himself against falling
using other means, without fail (e.g. an-
choring using a safety rope with energy
shock absorber) or fi nding a place where
it is safe to stand without falling, before
releasing the device!

1. The FABA™ fall protection device
runs in the climbing rail profile and
accompanies the user when climbing up
or down the climbing way, without any
manual intervention being necessary.
2. The user must climb close to the lad-
der when using an EZ fall arrest slider.
"Leaning backwards" will cause the fall
arrest slider to immediately lock in place
in the climbing protection rail.
3. The slider is mounted on the safety
rail and, in combination with the harness,
protects the user from falling only when
ascending and descending. In addition,
while working or during breaks the
users must also secure themselves with
the permitted and intended rigging. It is
important to ensure that this additional
safety device always remains tight.
The slider must not be touched or
guided by hand when climbing.
Manual intervention can infl uence the
safe operation of the brake mechanism.
4. After using the slider, remove it from
the safety rail, clean and store in a dry
location. The fall arrest slider must not
remain suspended freely in the rail.
5. For handling when inserting the fall
arrest slider in the climbing protection
rail, see page 5, Fig. A1 to A8. In doing
so, fi rst insert the end A with the rocker
and then rotate the fall arrest slider. For
handling with the removal, see page 6
Fig. B1 to B4.
