Cameras That Do Not Communicate with the
Flash
When the unit is attached to a camera that does not supply shooting information,
fl ash output can be set to the value metered by the fl ash or adjusted in advance
using fl ash controls. The unit can also be confi gured for use as a slave fl ash for
use with cameras that do not offer an RC mode.

The fl ash automatically adjusts fl ash output for optimal results.

Set the fl ash control mode to [AUTO] (P. 26).

Match the angle of illumination to the focal length of the lens (P. 28).

Select [Flash] for [Auto Mode Source] in the
menu display (P. 35).
• ISO sensitivity and aperture are displayed.

Adjust aperture and ISO sensitivity (P. 28).
• If the selected values are out of the fl ash control range, [ISO] and [F] will
blink in the display. The AUTO CHECK lamp blinks for about 5 s after the
shutter is released to show that the fl ash has fi red successfully.

Slave Mode

Slave Mode
The fl ash can be fi red remotely in sync with any fl ash fi red by other units.

Set the fl ash control mode to [SL AUTO] or [SL
MANUAL] (P. 26).

Position the fl ash.
• The fl ash can not be used with cameras that require a pre-fl ash.
• The fl ash may fi re in response to fl ash units used by other photographers.
