Carry out all the instructions for mounting the grille in the same way on both sides of the
EN
vehicle.
Caution: When drilling, remove the swarf using the suction device in
order to avoid damaging the interior luggage compartment lining.
Fitting procedure
How to make the attachment points for attaching the grille to the roof lining on the
vehicle's D-pillars:
Fig. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
› Carefully position the template (K) to mark the hole to be drilled in the roof lining on the D-
pillars, as described on the template.
› Use the pin to mark the point where you need to drill.
Please note: Use the pin to check that the template is positioned
correctly (the point where you need to drill). To do this, use the pin to
pierce the roof lining in several places within the marked area, to make
sure that there is a hole underneath the marked point in the roof side
panel.
› Remove the template and put it in a safe place to one side. It can be used later to mark the
position for the hole on the other side of the vehicle.
Please note: Check that the position where you need to drill the hole is
correct by moving the pin with its end inserted into the hole in the roof
side panel to and fro.
› At the point you have marked, drill a hole with a diameter of 26 mm in the roof lining (to do
this, use the MTX 9-193/B drilling tool).
Rivet the rivet nut (E) in the hole drilled in the roof side panel below the roof lining using
the MTX 9-193/A riveting tool as follows:
› Fit 7 washers (approx. 10.5 mm) onto the tool (see arrow in fig. 5) – the washers are not part
of the tool,
› Screw the rivet nut (E) onto the riveting tool with a washer (F) on top.
› Insert the riveting tool with the rivet nut and washer into the hole drilled in the roof side
panel.
› Rivet the rivet nut by gradually tightening the nut on the tool.
› Fully tighten the nut on the tool, otherwise the rivet nut will be loose.
› Undo the nut and remove the tool.
Screw in the adapter (D) using the M8 x 50 bolt and M8 nut as follows:
› Screw the adapter using the washer onto the nut on the M8 bolt.
› Tighten the nut until it comes into contact with the adapter.
› Insert the tool with the adapter into the hole in the riveted nut and screw in the adapter.
› Undo the nut and remove the bolt.
Place the cover cap (C) onto the protruding shaft of the adapter and then press it in.
Please note: Position the cover cap such that its recess (see arrow) is
facing the vehicle interior (the widest side of the cover cap must be
facing the side window).
