Power Supply
Before using the machine check the voltage on the
nameplate.
Use only an AC power supply and always earth the
machine before use. If an extension cable is used, it
must be as short as possible and of sufficient capacity
for the power supplied.
CAUTION
Before connecting the plug to the power supply, ensure
that the machine is turned to OFF to prevent abrupt
movements that could result in injury or accidents.
Positioning the Pipe
1. With the machine stopped open the two chucks
enough to allow the pipe to be threaded to go
through and, if possible, always insert it through
the rear chuck.
2. Close the rear chuck and close the hammer chuck
to hold the pipe. Jerk the hand wheel sharply
towards you to lock it.
3. A sharp push in the opposite direction will loosen
the pipe after the operation has been carried out.
Hammer chuck
When threading long pipes, use a pipe support both to
ensure that the pipe does not vibrate due to warping
as it rotates, and to ensure that the machine does not
become unstable due to the weight of the pipe.
If you do not use a pipe support, it may prove difficult
to produce proper threads, or the machine may be
damaged and result in accidents or injury.

Preparation for Threading
1. Ensure that the mounted chasers correspond to the
desired thread size.
2. Ensure that the pipe inserted corresponds to the
desired thread.
3. Release the die head by pulling on the shaft (see
figure).
4. By rotating clockwise or anticlockwise select the
thread length in the carriage dial. NEVER PERFORM
THIS OPERATION WITH THE DIE HEAD LOCKED.
5. Lower the die head and ensure that it is fixed with
the locking dowel pin.
6. Start up the machine and ensure that oil is released.
If not stop and check.
7. Move the chuck on the die head using the jamming
handle until the chuck mark coincides with the
desired thread indicated on the dial of the die head.
Lock the chuck by rotating the jamming handle.
8. Bring the die head closer to the pipe by rotating
the carriage handle until the chasers make contact
with the pipe.
