Do not ride your bike if it does not comply with one of these
points! A defective bike may cause severe accidents! If you
are not completely sure or have a question, contact your
BMW dealer!
Regularly check your bicycle in search of signs of wear,
scratches, kinks, worn colors or the start of cracking. Parts
whose useful life has been exceeded may suddenly fail.
Regularly bring your bicycle to a BMW dealer in order to
change the parts in question, if necessary.
3.3 Normal maintenance.
Your bike requires regular maintenance, in addition to a minimum
number of periodic reviews. The periodicity of the maintenance
measures depends on the type of vehicle (cruise bike, race bike,
mountain bike), in addition to the frequency and the conditions of
use.
Take a look at the Maintenance and Repair Calendar on page 73 of
this manual.
Warning: We recommend that your distributor perform these
processes. The periodicity information only takes into
consideration the values indicated in conditions of normal use.
In the case of mountain bikes, the intervals are reduced due to
intensive use.

3.5 Tightening torques for screw connections.
In any type of assembly, the appropriate wrenches and a clamping
force must be used that are not too high. If when tightening or
blocking, you realize that the threads are damaged, you should
change the corresponding nuts or bolts. Later, the tightening
torques will be applied that correspond to each type of thread.
