Step 4: Input group wiring
To connect a daylight sensor, occupancy sensor,
and/or infrared (IR) receiver, refer to the instruc-
tion sheets provided with the devices. Diagrams
for the PELV input terminals are shown below.
Wired sensors connected directly to an ESN QS
unit will control that unit only. Refer to the
particular input device installation guide(s) for
proper placement.
WARNING! Danger of Shock. May result
in serious injury or death. DO NOT WIRE
WHEN LIVE! Switch off power to all power
feeds via circuit breaker before wiring or
servicing the ESN QS unit.
Step 5: PELV Emergency Contact
Closure Input
WARNING! Danger of Shock. May result in serious
injury or death. DO NOT WIRE WHEN LIVE! Switch off
power to all power feeds via circuit breaker or isolator
before wiring or servicing the ESN QS unit.
• Emergency Contact Closure Input (CCI) wiring is PELV. Follow all
applicable national and local codes for proper circuit separation
and protection.
• When in emergency mode, all zones will switch on and the
ESN QS unit will not respond to local or remote button presses.
• Emergency contact closure input is normally closed (NC). The
ESN QS unit is shipped with a jumper pre-installed.
Note: The ESN QS unit will default to Emergency Mode if the CCI
is left open. If no Emergency contact input is required, please
leave the wire jumper in the CCI terminals.

* Note: Only one IR device may be connected per input group. If the IR signal from a
daylight sensor is connected, another IR control may not be connected to the same
input, and vice-versa.
** Connect the gray wire on -R Occupancy Sensor models.
