6 KE300 control signals
6.1 Tightening cell
A tightening cell is designated as the in-
stalled hardware for at least one tightening
channel and at least one data interface for
communication with the operating or evalua-
tion program or the superior controller. This
includes the corresponding tightening pro-
grams and tightening applications.
A tightening channel is controlled by a
SE301/SE302 tightening control unit. The
KE300 and SE301/SE302 communicate
with each other via an internal bus system.

6.2 Tightening application
Up to 48 tightening applications can be pro-
grammed in a KE (from version V1.26). Up to
8 tightening applications can be simultane-
ously controlled via the 8 available applica-
tion blocks, if they are not accessing the
tightening channels at the same time. One to
n tightening positions can be coordinated
within a tightening application.
The PLC operates the control signals from
application blocks FO 1 to FO 8 to control
the applications (see figure 13). In addition to
other signals, these are accessible via the
KE300's PLC signals.
