5 Initial Operation

Initial Operation
To protect the battery from running down, a
paper insulator is inserted between battery
and spring holder. This must be removed be-
fore initial operation.
Before commissioning, the proper seat of all
jumpers must be ensured. For commission-
ing, please proceed as follows:
1 Insert the battery(see section 4.1)
2 Insert the communication unit into the
card-rack
3 If existing, insert the Rexroth modules into
the communication unit
4 Activate the supply voltage of the card-
rack
5 Connect the service computer and set the
time with aid of the operating programme
6 Configure the interfaces and programme
the tightening system
5.1
Available modules
Three module card slots are at disposal for
expansion of the communication unit. These
can be assembled as follows:
Modul

parallel: 24 V E/A SM24V
seriell: RS 232, RS 422, 20 mA

Network: Ethernet SMeth

Those card-slots not occupied by Rexroth in-
terface modules are to be closed off
with dummy panels BP302, order no.
3 608 871 392, for safety and EMC reasons.

Before inserting the
Rexroth interface mod-
ules, the BT 300 card
rack must have been
voltage-free for at least
3 min.

The modules must be inserted into the com-
munication unit from the front and must be
secured with bolts against unintended loos-
ening.
5.2

Display elements

There are two LEDs on the front panel of the
communication unit which indicate the oper-
ational states. The restart button causes a
warm start of the communication unit.
