Light Effect Unit
GB
1
Applications
The light effect units LE-210, LE-220, LE-230, and LE-300 are suit-
able for professional applications (e. g. in discothèques) as well as
for private use. Via radiating parts which are continuously rotating
- two with models LE-210, LE-220, and LE-230, three with model
LE-300 - the units produce rotating, multi-coloured light patterns
and thus provide for an ideal dance floor atmosphere.

Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive for electromagnetic compati-
bility 89/336/EEC and the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
For the operation watch in any case the following items:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only.
Protect the unit against humidity and heat (permissible operating
temperature range 0-40 °C).
The heat which is generated in the unit has to be carried off via
air circulation. Therefore, do not cover the air vents of the hous-
ing with anything.
Do not insert or drop anything into the air vents! This could result
in electric shock.
The rotating radiating parts are heating up very much during oper-
ation. To avoid burnings, do not touch these parts of the unit du-
ring operation resp. let the unit cool down for some minutes after
switching off before touching it.
Do not take the unit into operation and immediately take the
mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
The unit uses dangerous mains voltage (230 V~). In case of im-
proper action a shock hazard may occur. The unit must in any
case be repaired by authorized skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be repaired by the manufac-
turer or authorized skilled personnel.
Never pull the mains plug out of the mains socket by means of
the mains cable.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally intended, if it is
operated in the wrong way or if it is not repaired by authorized skilled
personnel, no liability can be taken over for possible damage.
Only use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning, by no means chemicals or
water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively, bring it to a local
recycling plant for disposal.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code: green/yellow = earth,
blue = neutral,
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may
not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the ter-
minals in your plug, proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must be connected
to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter E or by
the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the ter-
minal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.

Installing of lamp insert
The unit is supplied without lamp inserts. Two (with models LE-210,
LE-220, and LE-230) resp. three (with model LE-300) halogen
lamps 24 V/150 W, socket G 6.35 (e. g. HL-24/150 or HL-24/150L
of our programme) are necessary. Insert one halogen lamp each
into each radiating part.
Important! Prior to installing resp. replacing of the lamps the unit
must in any case be separated from the power supply! As halogen
lamps become very hot during operation, at first let the lamps cool
down after operation of the unit (cooling time at least 5 minutes) be-
fore replacing them.
1) Screw off the screw at the radiating part and open the radiating
part up. (With model LE-230 in addition the small metal bracket
at the lamp socket must be screwed off and screwed again after
installing the lamps.)
2) With replacing the lamps carefully remove the old lamps out of
the sockets.
3) To avoid that the new lamps become impurified by skin grease,
if possible do not touch them with the fingers but use a soft cloth.
Insert the new halogen lamps: Place the pin sockets of the lamps
into the sockets.
4) After installing the lamps close the radiating part and tighten the
screw again.
4
Mounting
Mount the housing case of the light effect unit with at least four
heavy duty screws at the desired place (e. g. at a wall or ceiling)
resp. for mounting of the unit to traverse bars mount four rugged
supports at the housing case and fix the unit via these supports at
the bars.
Important! To avoid that the heat inside the unit cannot be dissipat-
ed, the mounting place must be chosen in such a way that a suffi-
cient air circulation is guaranteed during operation. The vents of the
housing must not be covered.
5
Operation
Connect the light effect unit with the mains plug to a mains socket
(230 V~/50 Hz). With connection to the power supply the unit is
switched on: The radiating parts start to rotate.
To switch off the unit, disconnect the mains plug.
