3. Drilling Hole for Antenna

Mark position of hole with water-soluble
marker (protect area around hole with masking
tape).
While drilling the antenna hole, remove metal chips
with vacuum cleaner working from vehicle
interior.

Mark hole (1) in centre of vehicle to dimension (2).
The reference line for dimension (2) is the edge of
the roof with respect to the rear window.
Dimension 2 = 100 mm
Predrill hole (1) with 3 mm Ø twist drill.
Check hole (1) from vehicle interior.
Drill out checked hole to 18.5 mm Ø with step drill.
Completely remove metal chips with compressed
air (wear safety goggles).
4. Mounting Antenna Base

Forward direction
Connect antenna cable (1) to antenna base (2)
before mounting in the vehicle.
Carefully fit antenna base (2) in hole (3) (do not pull
down headlining too far).
Hold antenna base (2) from below.
Fit seal (4) and retaining ring (5) from outside
(above).
Lightly screw on antenna nut (6).
Turn antenna base (2) with antenna cable
connection to the front (in forward direction), hold
firmly and tighten antenna nut (6) with 20 mm
open-ended spanner (tightening torque 4 Nm).
Firmly tighten antenna rod (7)
(tightening torque 2 Nm).
5. Installing Antenna Cable

Do not press down headlining too far
(danger of kinking).

Route antenna cable (1) with a loop (2) along
recess (3) in the roof and into the C-pillar and
secure at several points with textile adhesive
tape (4).
Route antenna cable (1) with angled plug con-
nector through existing foam rubber grommet (5)
into the vehicle boot to the place of installation of
the transceiver or FSE box (hands-free set) and
secure along the audio wiring harness with cable
ties (6).
6. General Information
Reassemble vehicle in reverse order of removal.
