SYSTEM MENU
Local setup
This menu allows for setting the local parameters of the
unit (address, end-of-line, number of tanks to be
controlled).
• The first parameter is the local address. Use the "up"
and "down" keys on the keypad to select the desired
option and press "OK" to confirm , or press
back to the main menu.
• The next parameter is the end-of-line. This parameter
depends on the unit's position inside the NEX-U CAN-
BUS network: if the U-Tank unit is between another two
other units elsewhere in the network (in other words,
the U-Tank is not at the end of the CAN-BUS network),
set this parameter to "0"; if the U-Tank is at the end of
the CAN-BUS network, set this parameter to "1". Use
the "up" and "down" keys on the keypad to select the
desired option (the blue E.O.L. status LED will change
accordingly) and press "OK" to confirm, or press
to go back to the previous parameter.
Calibration
This section only applies to analog probes. Before
employing the analog probes for the first time (or after
replacing a probe), each analog probe must be calibrated.
Note that before attempting to calibrate a probe, the
configuration for the tank must have been already
received, otherwise an error message will pop up.
• The first step is to select the channel that is going to be
calibrated. Use the "up" and "down" keys on the
keypad to select the desired option and press "OK" to
confirm, or press
• Now the unit will ask you to put the probe outside of
the fluid. Make sure that the probe to be calibrated is at
atmospheric pressure (outside of the tank, not
submersed or in contact with the fluid) and press "OK"
to confirm. If the probe is at atmospheric pressure and
an acceptable value is measured, the system will
proceed to the next screen, otherwise an error message
will appear.

• The last parameter is the number of tanks. The U-Tank
unit can control one or two tanks: if only one tank is to
be connected to the unit, set this parameter to "1"; if
two tanks are to be connected to the unit, set this
parameter to "2". Use the "up" and "down" keys on
the keypad to select the desired option and press "OK"
to go
to confirm, or press
parameter.
At this point, the display will show "OK! RESTARTING..."
and the unit will reboot with the new parameters.
NOTE: the new parameters are stored in the non-volatile
memory of the unit only after reaching this last point. Any
changes made previously without reaching the "OK!"
screen will not be saved.
• The last step is to set the probe height inside the tank.
This height is the distance between the bottom end of
the probe and the bottom of the tank. Use the "up"
and "down" keys on the keypad to enter the value (in
centimeters) and press "OK" to confirm, or press
to go back to the previous step.
At this point, the display will show "OK! CALIBRATION
FINISHED", to confirm that the calibration values have
been successfully recorded.
NOTE: to protect the probe from the presence of dirt and
debris on the bottom of the tank, it is not recommended
to let the probe to touch the tank's bottom.
