Important
When the basic carrier bars are mounted, the panorama sliding sunroof
cannot be opened. To ventilate the vehicle interior, the panorama sliding
sunroof can still be raised at the rear.
If the panorama sliding sunroof comes into contact with the basic carrier
bar, it will lower slightly but remain raised at the rear.

The maximum load is determined as follows (example):
Permissible roof load (8):
Minus the unladen weight of the basic
carrier bars (1 and 2):
Minus the weight of additional carrier
equipment (9 and 10):
Maximum permissible load:
Mounting
The fitting/removal is illustrated using front basic carrier bar (1) by way
of example. Fitting/removal of rear basic carrier bar (2) is carried out in
the same way.
Fit/remove the basic carrier bars with the help of a second person.
1. Open the cover caps completely.

2. Unlock cover caps (11) on both sides with key (4) and fold them up.
3. Loosen screws (12) with tool (5) a quarter of a revolution.
Note
Loosening screws (12) allows you to precisely adjust the basic carrier
bars to the width of the vehicle roof. This adjustment only needs to be
carried out at the first fitting.
4. On both sides of basic carrier bar (1), pull red lever (13) upwards.
Fold quick-tightening device (14) downwards and turn it to the right.
5. Place basic carrier bar (1) as shown in front left installation
location (6) onto the vehicle roof so that feet (15) are in the fastening
points (16).
