INSTRUCTIONS & PARTS LIST FOR 2P1900RS & 2L1900RS RIVET SHAVER
Read and understand "Safety Instructions For Air Tools" and these instructions before oper-
AIR SUPPLY
The efficiency of the tool is dependent on the proper supply of clean dry air at 90 psig (6.2 bar). The use of a line filter, pressure
regulator, and lubricator will insure maximum output and life of tools. Before connecting tool, blow out the air line to remove water
and dirt which may have accumulated.
HOSE AND HOSE CONNECTIONS
Supply hose should be not less than 3/8" (10 mm) I.D. Extension hoses should be at least 1/2" (13 mm) I.D. Use couplings and
fittings with at least 3/8" (10 mm) I.D.
LUBRICATION
Use SIOUX No. 288 air motor oil. An airline lubricator, set to deliver 2 to 4 drops per minute, is recommended. If a lubricator is
not used, add .04 oz. (1.2 cc, 12 to 15 drops) of oil into the air inlet twice daily.
GENERAL OPERATION
Start the tool by depressing the lever or pulling the trigger.
The motor speed on the 2P1900RS can be adjusted with the screw in the trigger (#18).
The motor speed on the 2L1900RS can be adjusted with the screw in the housing (#43).
INSTALLING CUTTERS
• Remove the nose piece (#14).
• Press the lock button (#4) to lock the driver shaft.
• Screw the cutter into the driver shaft (#8).
• Install the nose piece.
Make sure the nose piece inside diameter matches the cutter outside diameter.
• Adjust the depth of cut with the adjusting ring (#11) to cut rivet flush with the surface.
It is best to initially adjust the tool to cut the rivet slightly above the surface and then continue to adjust the tool in incre-
ments until the rivet is cut flush with the surface.
SHAVING OR MILLING RIVETS
• Place the nose piece over the rivet. The stabilizer will aid in maintaining proper alignment with the rivet.
• Start the tool.
• Press down on the tool until the cutter contacts the rivet.
• Continue pressing until the rivet is cut flush with the surface.
If the depth of cut is properly adjusted, the cutting action will stop automatically.
• Shut off the tool and remove from the surface.
