The following points should be ob-
served.
- Never remove the tank lid while the
motor is running or hot.
- Let the motor and exhaust compo-
nents cool down before fuelling.
- Refuel outdoors only.
- Never store the hedge trimmer or
the fuel tank in a room with an open

78
lock it safely after filling.
- When emptying the tank, make sure
to do this outdoors.
•
If the cutting unit contacts a foreign
body or if the operating noises in-

with unusually high force, turn off the
motor and let the hedge trimmer come
to a standstill. Pull the spark plug con-
nectors from the spark plug and take
the following measures:
- check for damages;
- check for loose parts and fasten all
loose parts;
- replace damaged parts with equiva-
lent parts or have them repaired.
•
Always ensure that the hedge trim-
mer is properly placed in one of the
indicated working positions before the
motor is started.
•
Do not use the hedge trimmer with a
defective or strongly worn-out cutting
unit.
• To avoid risk of fire, pay attention that
the motor and sound absorber are free
from deposits, leaves or leaking lubri-
cants.
•
Always ensure that all handles and
safety devices are mounted when you
use the hedge trimmer. Never try to
use an incompletely assembled hedge
trimmer or a hedge trimmer with im-
permissible modifications.
•
Always use both hands when the
hedge trimmer is equipped with two
handles.
•
If the hedge trimmer is taken out of op-
eration for purposes of maintenance,
inspection or storage, turn off the mo-
tor, pull the spark plug connector from
the spark plug and make absolutely
sure that all rotating parts have come
to a standstill. Let the machine cool
down before you check or adjust it,
etc.
