5.4.3 PC operating mode
Warning
Possible personal injury
Personal injury may result from incorrect handling of the motor test bench in combination with the software.
For this reason, please adhere to the following safety precautions when working with the test bench:
•
Read the user's manual for DriveLab software.
•
Never operate the motor test bench if the safety guard has been removed.
•
Deactivate the PC operating mode before manual intervention.
This assures that an interconnected PC cannot inadvertently take control of the test bench.
When the PC operating mode is deactivated, the "PC" line appears as an inverse display in window
number 1.
Starting the PC operating mode – here's how:
Window number 3, "PC Mode / controller / inactive", appears in the following case: An interconnected PC
attempts to take control of the motor test bench with the help of DriveLab controller software (see also the
user's manual for DriveLab software).
You can respond to this attempt in one of two different ways:
•
You can block the control command by doing nothing. In this case, control commands are not forwarded
to the motor test bench. The motor test bench can still be operated manually with the rotary knob.
•
You can surrender control of the motor test bench to the PC by pressing the rotary knob. Window
number 4 appears, "PC Mode / controller /active".
Exiting the PC operating mode – here's how:
If the test bench is being controlled from a PC, window number 4 appears: "PC Mode / controller / active".
•
Deactivate the PC operating mode:
Press the rotary knob.
Note: Although the test bench is now no longer enabled for control via the PC, this does not yet make
manual control possible. The following step is required to this end.
•
Return to manual control at the test bench:
Switch from "PC Mode" to "Hardware Mode" in DriveLab software. Click the "Hardware" button in the
toolbar to this end. For details please refer to the user's manual included with DriveLab software.
Window number 1 appears at the motor test bench in order to acknowledge that this step has been
completed.
