Spot™ Vision Screener software update instructions
Caution

You need the following items to update the software on your vision screener:
•
A computer with access to the internet
•
A USB drive with at least 8 GB of storage space
•
Your vision screener, with all patient data files exported
Determine your vision screener software level
1.
Power on your vision screener.
2.
Touch Tools on the bottom of the Home screen.
3.
Touch About.
4.
The software version is displayed in the top-middle of the screen.
5.
Touch the X icon in the upper-left corner to close the About menu.
If your software version is 2.x or 1.x you cannot perform this update. Please verify your
software is version 3.x or greater before downloading.
Export patient data files
1.
From the Tools menu, touch Import/Export.
2.
Insert the USB drive into the USB port of the vision screener.
3.
Once the USB drive is detected, touch Export.
If you wish to export one file containing no subject-specific data, select Exclude Personal
Data. If you do not choose this option, all data is exported.
4.
Touch OK when Export Finished successfully displays and remove the USB drive.
For information on the exported file names, please see the vision screener Directions for use.
5.
Touch the X icon in the upper-left corner to close the Import/Export menu.
Update the software on your vision screener
1.
Make sure the vision screener is powered down.
2.
Extract the data files from the ZIP file to your desktop.
3.
Insert the USB drive into your computer, and drag and drop the file with spot_update-
3.x.xx.xx.bin in the file name into the USB drive folder. This file is located in the folder of the
ZIP file you extracted.
4.
Eject and remove the USB drive.
5.
Plug the USB drive into the USB slot on the vision screener.
