Connect the pressure reducer 22 to the shielding-gas cylinder 18. Screw
the shielding-gas hose 23 of the TIG valve torch to the pressure reducer.
Open the gas cylinder with the cylinder valve 19.

Adjusting the Amount of Shielding Gas
Open the valve 15 on the TIG valve torch. Shielding gas flows out.
Adjust the amount of shielding gas with the adjustment screw 24 of the
pressure reducer (see table: Reference Values for Amperage and Gas
Flow).
The flowmeter 21 indicates the gas flow and the capacity manometer 20
indicates the capacity in the cylinder.
Shut the valve 15 on the TIG valve torch as long as no welding is taking
place in order to avoid unnecessary gas consumption.
Striking an Arc ("Lift Arc")
Open the valve 15 on the TIG valve torch.
Briefly touch the workpiece at the welding spot with the tip of the elec-
trode.
Slightly lift the electrode: The arc is formed between the workpiece and
the electrode.
1
Oxidized tungsten electrodes (thorium oxide, e.g. WT 20 electrodes or
WC 20 cerium oxide) have a higher degree of arc strike and higher cur-
rent load values than electrodes made of pure tungsten. For DC welding,
oxidized tungsten electrodes are usually used.
For too low current settings, an arc cannot be struck. For too high current
settings, the tungsten electrode melts off.

testing, repair should be carried out by an authorised customer services
21
agent for Würth power tools.
For all correspondence and spare parts orders, always include the article
22
number on the type plate of the machine.

Environmental Protection

Recycle raw materials instead of disposing as waste
The machine, accessories and packaging should be sorted
for environmental-friendly recycling.
The plastic components are labelled for categorized recycling.
