Please read these Instructions for Use carefully and pay special attention to the
safety information!
1 Intended Use
1.1 Medical Purpose
The 3R41 is to be used exclusively for the exoprosthetic fitting of amputations of the lower limb.
The 3R41 can be used for unilateral or bilateral amputees.
1.2 Application
Field of application according to the Otto Bock MOBIS® Mobility System.
The 3R41 is intended exclusively for applications within mobility grade 1
(indoor walkers).
Approved for a patient weight of up to 100 kg/220 lbs.

1.3 Application Conditions

The 3R41 has been developed for everyday use and must not be used for unusual activities such
as extreme sports (free climbing, paragliding, etc.).
For the required environmental conditions, please refer to the Technical Data section.
1.4 Prosthetist Qualifications
The fitting of patients with the 3R41 may only be carried out by a prosthetist.
2 Safety Instructions
• Observe the specified torques for tightening the clamping screws and for fastening
the pyramid adapter. Only the original screws may be used.
• Use the patient information section of this pamphlet (Chapter 3) to instruct your patient
regarding proper handling of the 3R41.
3 Patient Information
• The knee joint should not be subjected to intense smoke, dust, mechanical vibrations, shocks
or high temperatures.
• Careful handling of the prosthesis and its components not only increases their service life but,
above all, ensures the patient's personal safety! Should the prosthesis be subjected to unusual
stresses (such as a fall), immediately contact your prosthetist and have the prosthesis inspected
for any damage.
• The knee joint function may be affected by both environmental and service conditions. To
reduce the risk for the patient, the knee joint should not be used when noticeable functional
changes occur. Noticeable functional changes may include different locking and unlocking
behavior, poor response, incomplete extension, play in the bearings, and abnormal noises.
If you notice any damage or functional changes, please have the prosthesis inspected by a
specialist workshop.
• The knee joint may only be repaired by an authorized Otto Bock service center.
