3. Loosen the jam nut for the plunge adjustment screw
counterclockwise. Push down the rear of the safety
frame to make sure that the wheels are flat on the
ground.
4. Turn the plunge adjustment screw clockwise by hand
until it touches the guide wheel shaft.
5. Loosen the plunge adjustment screw a ¼ turn
counterclockwise. Tighten the jam nut for the plunge
adjustment screw to lock it.
6. Cut in a saw joint for approximately 1 ft to make sure
that you have got the correct decorative cut.
To do a check of the skid plate Soff-

Examine the skid plate for damage.
•
Examine the slot of the skid plate for too much wear.
•
Examine the concrete surface side. Make sure that
there are no burrs and that the side segments are
not bent.
•
Install a new skid plate with each new blade. Do not
use an used skid plate with a new blade.
•
Lift the skid plate from the front and from behind to
make sure that the blade moves freely through the
skid plate.
To do a check of the oil level
1. Stop the engine.
2. Put the product on level ground.
3. Remove the oil tank cap with the attached dipstick.
4. Clean the oil from the dipstick.
5. Put the dipstick back in. Do not tighten it.
6. Pull the dipstick out and read the oil level.

7. Examine the oil level on the dipstick.
8. If the oil level is low, fill with engine oil and do a
check of the oil level again. Refer to
on page 28 for correct oil type.
9. Tighten the oil tank cap correctly before you start the
engine.
Note: The engine has an oil alert system that stops the
engine if the oil level is too low. The engine cannot be
started unless the oil level is above the prescribed limit.
To replace the engine oil
Maintenance schedule on page 16 for intervals.
Refer to
WARNING: Engine oil is very hot directly
after the engine stops. Let the engine
become cool before you drain the engine oil.
If you spill engine oil on your skin, clean with
soap and water.
1. Put a container below the drain plug for the engine
oil.
2. Remove the drain plug.
3. Let the oil run out into the container.
4. Attach the drain plug and tighten it.
5. Fill with new oil according to recommendation. Refer
Technical data on page 28 .

Air filter
WARNING: Use approved respiratory
protection when you clean or replace the air
filter. Discard used air filters correctly. The
dust in the air filters is dangerous to your
health.
WARNING: Do not clean the air filter with
compressed air. This causes damage to the
air filter and the risk increases that you
breathe the dangerous dust.
CAUTION: Always replace a damaged air
filter, or the dust will go into the engine and
cause engine damage.
