ROTARY TILLER
The rotary tiller is used to break the superficial layer of the ground so that its permeability is
increased and, at the same time, rid of the weeds( fig. 10). Tilling depth can be adjusted by lifting
or lowering the central knife situated under the rotary unit. To increase depth it is necessary to lift
the knife. It is advisable to start working with the knife in the lowest position and lift it when a
deeper tillage is requested. CAUTION: to protect the machine transmission, the rotary tiller is fitted
with two safety screws, in case a stone or any foreign object suddenly block the tiller rotation.
Should this happen, you have to stop immediately the engine and replace the screws, which fix the
tines group to the tines shaft (fig. 11). Please use the steel screws 1.29 (Grillo item no. 146374).
Important (fig. 25): On hard soils the machine may jump forward. If so, lower the central knife to
the maximum keeping the slide horizontal (fig. 12). Check the tines are properly placed on (fig. 13).
Check the oil level every 20 hours (fig. 13 no.2) adding 85 W 90 lubricant if necessary.
To narrow the rotary tiller to 33 cm, you need the part number 929512.
CUTTER BAR
The cutter bar attachable to this machine can be with central control (fig. 16). Its strong
construction and high performance makes it the ideal tool to mow small pieces of land, parks and
gardens. The cutter bar must be fixed to the attachments coupling instead of the rotary tiller just
through the locking rod (fig. 5): let the eccentric lever be free (fig. 5) in order to allow it to swing.
The handlebar must be turned 180° on the engine side operating the handlebar adjustment lever
(fig. 9). To allow motion of the machine version sickle bar, you have to bring the reverser lever into
position B (fig. 2).
Cutter bar maintenance
- Check the blade pressers are always well adjusted (fig. 15) but not too tight because the engine
might stop once the cutter bar is engaged and the cutter bar could be damaged by overheating.
The blade must turn by operating the hand-wheel.
- Check the blade is well sharpened
- Sharpen the cutting edges on the upper side (fig. 16).
- Check the blade movement is properly tightened and lubricated while working (fig. 17)
- When work is finished the cutter bar must be cleaned and lubricated
SAFETY DEVICE FOR G52 CUTTER BAR
On the G52 cutter bar a safety device has been assembled (fig. 18) in order to protect the cutter
bar itself if a foreign body suddenly blocks the blade. If, after a certain period of work, and after
several sudden blocks on the blade, the cutter bar doesn't work as well as before, it is necessary to
add one ore two 0,5 mm washers (see picture) in order to adjust the spring pressure on the
couplings. Proceed as follows:
1)
Disconnect the cutter bar from the machine using the attachment blockage lever.
2)
Unscrew the screw no. 1
3)
Remove washer no. 2
4)
Add one or more 0,5 mm
5)
Reassemble washer no. 2, the screw and the cutter bar onto the machine
ROTARY CUTTER
This implement (fig. 19), studied in particular for parks and garden maintenance, has 50 cm cutting
width. Its high power and the driving wheels allow to operate in all conditions will protect the
operator from fatigue. The rotary cutter is attachable to the walking tractor's frame for attachments
and it is used with the handlebar turned over the engine. The transmission of the movement to the
blade is obtained by a bevel gear pair. The rotary cutter is equipped with a releasing device on the
coupling, ensuring that the machine will not be damaged by its inertia when engaging the reverse
gear. Cutting height can be regulated by adjusting the position of the little front wheel, thus
changing the lateral skids position (fig. 20).
