Dear Customer, we thank you for choosing a KaWe product. Our products are known for their high quality and long life. This KaWe product meets EC standards

Please read these instructions thoroughly and carefully before attempting to use this product and heed the given instructions.

Familiarize yourself fully with this product before use.

Utilization:

KaWe otoscopes are only to be used by authorized personnel and are exclusively

intended for medical examination of all natural body oriﬁ ces such as noses-ears-

mouth.

Use:

KaWe otoscopes are used in direct examination of the auditory canal and of the

eardrum by means of ear funnels and handles in order to introduce the illuminated

ear funnel with and without magnifying glass.

What is the purpose of the general medical otorhinolaryngological

examination of the ear?

This examination enables the doctor to recognize diﬀ erent diseases and malfunc-

tions in the area of the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear and to monitor

their treatment.

Unsuited Use/Contraindication of the Products:

Any use other than that described here is not in accordance with the intended use

of the unit. The manufacturer is not liable for any resulting damages. The user

alone bears the risk. Use only the enclosed handle for electric power supply.

Operation (EUROLIGHT ® + COMBILIGHT ® ):

A satisfactory operation will be guaranteed by the use of KaWe standard handles 2.5V with 2 batteries ("C" -Baby 1.5V bzw. 2,5 V. We recommend the use of

alkaline batteries) or KaWe accumulators 2.5 V and / or 3.5 V).

Ensure that the polarity and the light bulb 2.5 V and / or 3.5 V are correct.

Slip-on and lock into place or clamp the instrument head.

Handles with accumulator operation can be charged with the KaWe charging station MedCharge 3000.

CAUTION: NiCd accumulators must be discharged completely before they are recharged in order to avoid the memory eﬀ ect.

Operation (PICCOLIGHT ® F.O. + C):

A satisfactory operation will be guaranteed by the use of KaWe standard handles 2.5V with 2 batteries ("AA" -Mignon 1.5V). Activate the on/oﬀ light sliding

switch. Exchange the battery by screwing oﬀ the PICCOLIGHT® -head.

Lamp exchange:

Satisfactory operation of the unit can only be guaranteed with the use of original KaWe vacuum incandescent lamps that ensure

an optimum light quality!

Swing the magnifying glass upwards and pull out the lamp by means of the adapter. Remove the lamp from the adapter, and,

if necessary, clean the glass bulb of the new lamp with alcohol. The lamp with the adapter must be pushed in fully until it

touches the back of the opening.

Take oﬀ the F.O.-otoscope head from the handle and remove the lamp by pulling it out. If necessary, clean the glass bulb of the

new lamp with alcohol. The glass bulb should be clean and free from ﬁ nger prints (grease free). The lamp must be pushed in fully

until it touches the back of the opening.

Pull out the lamp in direction of arrow from the EUROLIGHT ® head and remove the black plastic sleeve from the lamp. Put in the

new lamp and then slip the plastic sleeve back onto the lamp.
