keys to the coin drawer, 15 coins (only for
coin- operated versions)(* for steam heated
machines only).
5) Be sure that the instruction booklet is not
left in the package and lost.
The packaging materials (plastic bags, ex-
panded polystyrene, wood, cardboard, nails,
etc.) represent a safety hazard and conse-
quently must not be left within the reach of
children. Collect and keep for further trans-
portation or long-term storage (see chapter
9).
Before connecting the appliance, check that
the rating plate data correspond to those of
the existing electric network.
The washing machine must be used exclu-
sively for the purposes it was explicitly
designed for.
5. GETTING THE APPLIANCE
STARTED
5.1 POSITIONING REQUIREMENTS
This washing machine demands no posi-
tioning requirement but a level platform.
Align by the use of a spirit level.
After moving the machine, align it again.
Check that clamp nuts are securely fastened.
5.2 SPACE REQUIRED FOR INSTALLA-
TION, USE AND MAINTENANCE
The washing machine requires the mini-
mum space indicated in the dimensional
figures:
1) Drain
2) Control panel
3) Automatic cutoff switch (not supplied)*
4) Holes for fastening to floor (by the clamps
supplied)
5) Available connection for equipotential
6) Power supply inlet through protective
duct
7) Hot water inlet
8) Cold water inlet
9) Steam inlet (steam-heated models only)
10)Air break
11)Dispenser
12)Door
13)Emergency puller
14)Door-opening handle
* The cut-off switch must be in a position
allowing easy access to the operator in
any EMERGENCY event (maximum
distance 3 m).
5.3 ALLOWABLE ROOM CONDITIONS
FOR PROPER MACHINE SERVICE (in-
formation for the user).
- TYPE OF ROOM: CLOSED
- MINIMUM TEMPERATURE: 10 °C
(Caution: When ambient temperature is be-
low 10°C, the electronic parts may work
irregularly)
-MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE: 40 °C
-RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 75% H.R.
-LIGHTING: 100 LUX (valid for Italy; as
for other national provisions regarding light-
ing in working premises, consult the rel-
evant national codes).
5.4 BUILDING JOBS
For correct operation, this washing machine
needs being anchored to the floor by means
of the clamps supplied.
Considering the high kinetic energy devel-
oped during spinning (see table below), po-
sitioning the machine in storeys other than
ground floor is not recommended, as it could
generate unnecessary noise during spinning.
Choose the position according to the logical
path of the laundry and the existing water
and power mains.
Prepare a floor drain lower than the machine
drain outlet and not farther than the length of
the drain elbow supplied.
The height of the concrete plinth depends on
the height of the laundry trolley, which must
get to the door but must not hamper loading/
unloading operations.
Cast the anchoring plinth; bury the clamps
supplied using a pre-shaped form if necessary.
Seven days after casting, position the ma-
chine and fasten it by the supplied nuts and
washers.

5.5 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
The washing machine must be installed by
professionally qualified personnel, in ac-
cordance with the instructions provided by
the manufacturer and with local regulations.
Incorrect installation may cause harm to
persons, animals or property. The manufac-
turer disclaims all responsibility for such
damage.
Make sure power supply voltage corresponds
to the values indicated on the rating plate of
the washing machine. Consider also that the
maximum allowable power voltage varia-
tion is ±10%.
IMPORTANT: THE WASHING MA-
CHINE
MUST
BE
EARTHED.
To this purpose, the terminal block is fitted
with a specific contact, which must be con-
nected following the regulations in force.
The manufacturer assumes no responsibility
for any damage resulting from nonobser-
vance of this accident prevention principle.
In compliance with the latest accident pre-
vention provisions, the machine is provided
with an external terminal for equipotential
connection.
Ahead of the washing machine there must be
11
an automatic multipolar cut-off switch with
contacts spacing at least 3mm, which must
be calibrated according to the maximum
rated input (see rating plate and table be-
low):

Place a 20 mm (outer diameter) cable duct
between the cutoff switch and the machine
electric power inlet. Being this fitted with a
clamp, after inserting the duct it is necessary
to fasten the bolts from inside the machine.
Use one of the cable types appearing in the
table below. Make sure it is fire-proof and
properly protected.
When the cable has been inserted, secure the
cable clamp from inside the machine.

The machine must be powered following the
cyclic direction of the phases: R-S-T (A1-A2-
A3) (L1-L2-L3). Altering such a direction may
cause damage to the appliance. It is possible to
test phase direction manually as follows:
- Connect the three phases, the neutral and
earth wires.
- Turn the wall cut-off switch on and then
press the spin contactor (C2) manually: if
spinning is clockwise, the phases are con-
nected correctly; if not, exchange two of the
incoming phases.
CAUTION: in order to prevent acciden-
tal inversion, let the importance of phase
cyclic direction be known to the customer,
user or person in charge of the laundry.
PROPERLY
5.6 WATER CONNECTION
The washing machine is fitted with a hot
water inlet (approximately 60°C) and a cold
water inlet; both are 3/4''.
The incoming water pressure must be com-
prised between 0.5 and 5 bar (0.05 and 0.5
MPa).
Prepare wall couplings and ahead of them,
the appropriate cocks, which must not be
farther than the length of the pipes supplied.
If hot water is not available, mount a T pipe
