The machine has full-wave electronics
with the following features:
3.1
Smooth start-up
Electronically-controlled smooth start-up ensu-
res that the machine does not jerk when it is
started up.
3.2
Accelerator switch
Switch (1.2) serves as an accelerator switch.
The spindle speed increases as the pressure
on the switch increases. When the switch is
pressed fully down, the spindle speed set with
the adjusting wheel (1.7) is reached.
3.3
Setting the speed
The spindle speed can be set with the adjusting
wheel (1.7) when the switch (1.2) is pressed
down fully. The numbers on the adjusting wheel
correspond approximately with the following
spindle speeds:
1
800 rpm
2
1,120 rpm
3
1,440 rpm
3.4
Maintaining a constant speed
The pre-set spindle speed is kept constant elec-
tronically. This means that a constant polishing
speed is also achieved even when the machine
is under load.
3.5
Overload protection
The overload protection interrupts the power
supply before the current consumption exceeds
the permissible value when the machine is ex-
tremely overloaded.
The machine is immediately ready for operation
once it has been switched off.
3.6
Temperature protection
The temperature protection reduces the
machine's current consumption before a too
high temperature is reached when the machi-
ne is overloaded. Thereafter the machine may
only be operated at idling speed. This allows
the machine to be cooled down quickly by the
motor fan. The machine must be switched off
briefl y after it has cooled down before it is ready
for operation once more.
4
Tools
Use only tools which are approved for
the machine's maximum speed (2,400
rpm).
For your own safety, use only original Festool
tools.
4.1
Fitting the polishing pad
The polishing pads (1.4) are equipped with an
M14 thread, and are screwed directly into the
spindle (1.5). The motor spindle can be locked
by pressing the spindle stop (1.6)

6
2,400 rpm
6
Actuate the spindle stop only when the
drive spindle is stationary. Do not switch
on the motor when the spindle stop is
pressed in.
4.2
Attaching the polishing materials
The polishing materials (felt, sponge, sheep-
skin) are simply pressed onto the polishing pad
(1.4) and held in place by the adhesive coating
on the polishing pad.
5
Operating notes
Do not overload the machine by pressing
on it too hard.
The best polishing results are achieved by wor-
king with a moderate contact pressure.
The additional handle (1.3) can be optionally
fi tted on the right or left of the rotary polisher's
transmission head.
6
Maintenance and care
Always remove the power supply
plug from the socket before carry-
ing out any work on the machine.
The cool air openings in the motor casing must
always be kept clean and unobstructed to ensu-
re air circulation.
All maintenance and repair work which requires
the motor casing to be opened may only be
carried out by an authorised service centre.

Accessories
The accessory order number can be found in
your Festool catalogue or on the Internet under
"www.festool.com".

Warranty
Our equipment is under warranty for at least 12
months with regard to material or production
faults in accordance with national legislation.
In the EU countries, the warranty period is 24
months (an invoice or delivery note is required
as proof of purchase).
Damage resulting from, in particular, normal
wear and tear, overloading, improper handling,
or caused by the user or other damage caused
by not following the operating instructions, or
any fault acknowledged at the time of purchase,
is not covered by the warranty.
Complaints will only be acknowledged if the
equipment has not been dismantled before
being sent back to the suppliers or to an au-
thorised Festool customer support workshop.
Store the operating instructions, safety notes,
spare parts list and proof of purchase in a safe
place. In addition, the manufacturer's current
warranty conditions apply.
