Producing a flange
 Cut pipeline to the right size using the ATE Mini
pipe cutter 03.9310-0010.3.
Attention: When cutting the pipe, make sure
that it does not become constricted (Fig. 1).

 Debur the end of the pipe carefully with the
ATE Pipe deburring tool 03.9310-0020.3
(Fig. 2). Blow compressed air through the
pipeline. Remove any metallic shavings with-
out leaving any residues! Keep the lines and
clamping jaws free from grease at all times!
 Clamp the base device (1) in the jaw vice.
 Screw in the operating lever (2) into the cam
(3) of the base device (1). Loosen the clamping
screw (4) and swivel the gripping yoke (5) to
the side. Select the clamping jaw (6) accord-
ing to the desired flange type and pipeline
diameter, place it in the jaw holder of the base
device (1) and push it until the stop (Fig. 3).
The separating joint of the clamping jaw (6)
must be horizontal. The labelled front side of
the clamping jaw (6) points to the revolver
head (7) (Fig. 4).
 Push an appropriate union screw over the
pipeline and align the end of the pipe into
the clamping jaw (6) in such a manner that
it closes flush with the front surface of the
clamping jaw (Fig. 5). Swing the gripping yoke
(5) until the stop over the clamping jaw (6) and
tighten the clamping screw (4) (Fig. 6).
 Choose the flaring pin (8) according to the
desired flange type and operation step (OP1
or OP2) and turn the revolver head (7) in such
a manner that the flaring pin (8) is opposite the
pair of clamping jaws (6) (Fig. 7).
 Pull the operating lever (2) until the stop and
shape the flange (Fig. 8).
Note: Two operations (OP1 and OP2) are
necessary for the production of DIN E flanges
(SAE).
 After producing the flange, loosen the clamp-
ing screw (4), swing the gripping yoke (5) to
the side and remove the pair of clamping
jaws (6) along with the pipeline from the base
device (1).
 Perform a visual inspection (shape and surface)
of the flange.
