Safety measure for plastic range
Safety measures are met automatically when the actuators and lens assemblies
are mounted in metal front plates and enclosures. When mounted in insulated
enclosures, the "protective insulation" safety requirements are met.
• Safety measure for metal range
Warning
Grounding is required for voltages above safety extra-
low voltage.
Mounting in front plates / enclosures made of electrically non-conductive
material (Fig. X):
Each individual actuator must be earthed; earthing screw available as acces-
sory.
Mounting in front plates made of electrically conductive material:
Because of its protruding tip, the countersunk holder screw (TORX T10) pro-
vides both anti-rotation protection and contacting with the front plate. If surfaces
are thickly painted, the contacting and the anti-rotation protection can be
improved by screwing the screw in further (approx. 0.5 revolution). The operator
must ensure the effectiveness of the protective measure by checking (on his
own responsibility).
Information about
• Lamp holder with lamp test function 3SB3400-1L:
The negative potential (L-) must not be connected to the protective conductor
if the direct voltage is larger than the safety extra-low
(DIN EN 60204-1 / VDE 0113-1).
• Metal range:
It is only permissible to illuminate the selector switch with an LED insert.
• Metal and plastic range:
For EMERGENCY-STOP devices equipped with 1 or 2 contact block(s) in
connection with support 3SB3901-0AB one of the contact blocks must be
mounted in the center position.
