The input jacks connected with audio cords
accept analog signals. This unit records the
analog signal from the ANALOG IN jacks by
converting it into digital signal. (This

recording is simply referred to as ANALOG
RECORDING.)
When this unit is connected by a digital cord
or optical fiber cable to a component
equipped with digital output such as a CD
player, the signal input through the DIGITAL
input jack can be recorded in the digital
format (this recording is referred to as
OPTICAL RECORDING).

Press the POWER switch.
Set the amplifier's input selector to the
source to be recorded.

Insert a recordable MD.
... When a partially recorded MD is inserted,
the deck will start recording from the end
of the last recorded track.

Press the INPUT SELECTOR button and
select OPTICAL, ANALG, or MONO.
Every time the REC INPUT button is pressed,
the model is changed as follows:
OPTICAL
MONO
ANALOG
... In the analog "monaural long-play mode",
the recordable time can be twice
compared with the stereo mode.

Press the AUTO/MANUAL button to select
the mode of track number assignment.

Press the REC PAUSE button.
The deck enters the record-pause mode.

Adjust the recording level with the REC
LEVEL control. (possible in ANALOG and
MONO recording only)
Play the source to be recorded and adjust
the recording level so that the loudest sound
doesn't exceed "OVER" indication of the
peak level meter.

Start recording.
Press the REC PAUSE, PAUSE(π) or PLAY
(Á) button.
Start playing the source to be recorded.
... To play a track with a margin from the
beginning, it is recommended to start
playing the source after the time display
of the MD recorder has started to count.

Les signaux analogiques sont reçus sur les
câbles audio branchés aux jacks ANALOG IN.
Ces signaux sont ensuite convertis en format
numérique. (Pour simplifier, ce mode sera
appelé ENREGISTREMENT ANALOGIQUE.)
Si l'appareil est alimenté par une source
numérique, comme un lecteur de CD, par un
câble numérique ou une fibre optique, le
signal reçu au jack DIGITAL est directement
enregistré en format numérique. (Ce mode
est appelé ENREGISTREMENT OPTIQUE.)

Appuyez sur le bouton POWER.
Réglez le sélecteur d'entrée en fonction de la
source utilisée.

Chargez un MD enregistrable.
... Si vous chargez un MD déjà partiellement
enregistré, l'enregistrement commence à
la fin de la dernière piste utilisée.

Appuyez sur le bouton INPUT SELECTOR
pour choisir le mode approprié: OPTICAL,
ANALOG ou MONO.
Chaque pression sur le bouton REC INPUT
fait défiler les modes suivants :
OPTICAL
: Entrée optique/numérique
MONO
: Enregistrement analogique
monaural longue durée
ANALOG
: Enregistrement analogique
stéréophonique
... Le mode MONO permet de doubler la
durée d'enregistrement par rapport au
mode STEREO.

Appuyez sur le bouton AUTO/MANUAL
pour choisir la fonction d'attribution des
numéros de piste.
(voir p. 26)

Appuyez sur le bouton REC PAUSE.
L'appareil passe en mode PAUSE-
ENREGISTREMENT.

Régler le niveau d'enregistrement à l'aide
de
la
fonction
(Enregistrement ANALOG ou MONO
seulement)
Faites démarrer la source à enregistrer et
réglez le niveau pour que les sons les plus
forts ne dépassent pas le niveau "OVER" sur
l'indicateur de crête.

Commencez l'enregistrement.
Appuyez sur le bouton REC PAUSE,
PAUSE(π) ou PLAY(Á).
Faites démarrer la source du signal.
... Pour garder une certaine marge au début
de la piste, il est recommandé d'attendre
que le compteur commence à progresser
avant de démarrer la source.
