INDICATIONS:
For use only with nContact Generator, nContact Coagulation Device and CSK-2000 RF Coagulation
Cable (RF Cable).
The CSK-2040 Ground Pad Adapter Cable is provided non-sterile and should not be sterilized. See
cleaning instructions section of this document.

INSTRUCTIONS:
CSK-2040
1. Remove cable from package.
2. Before every use inspect cable for damage. Pay particular attention to the insulation of the
cable. If any part of the cable is damaged, discard without using. See next page for schematic.
3. Connect ground pad cable to female end of ground pad adapter cable with "nContact Inc.
CSK-2040" inscribed on connector.
4. Connect other end of CSK-2040 cable to the "Indifferent Electrode" receptacle on the front
of the generator.
5. Follow instructions for use of generator and coagulation device.
6. To disconnect Ground Pad Adapter Cable from the generator, grasp by connector cover and
pull back. Do NOT pull on wire.
7. To disconnect the Ground Pad cable from the Ground Pad Adapter cable, grasp the over-

9. Store cable in safe dry area until next use.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS:
CAUTION: Ensure Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) is completely dry before operating the unit.
CAUTION: Avoid caustic or abrasive cleaners
1. Disconnect the cable from the unit before cleaning.
2. If the cable is contaminated with blood and other body fluids, is shall be cleaned before the
contamination can dry (within two hours of contamination).
3. The outer surfaces of the cable shall be cleaned with 70% - 90% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) wipes for a minimum
of two minutes.
4. Pay attention to all area where fluids or soil may gather, such as under/around the connector or any tight
crevices/grooves.
5. Dry the cable with a dry, white lint-free cloth.
6. Conduct a final confirmation of the cleaning process by visually inspecting the white cloth for
remaining soil.
7. If soil remains on the white cloth, repeat steps 3 through 6.
8. After cleaning is complete, turn the unit on to perform Power On Self-Test (POST). If any errors are
received, contact AtriCure to begin return process.
DISPOSAL:
Follow local governing ordinances and recycling plans regarding disposal or recycling of device components.
WARNINGS :
• For information concerning all warnings, precautions, and troubleshooting see nContact
Coagulation System Radiofrequency (RF) Generator Unit Model CS-3000 Operators Manual.
• If necessary, clean the cable with 70%- 90% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) wipes to ensure that the
cable does not cause an infection.
CAUTION: Cables to surgical electrodes should be positioned to prevent contact with
patient or other leads.
