Adjusting the illumination
angle on the prism head
Operation
Tonometry
The measuring prisms must be disinfected and undamaged.
Therefore, we recommend the use of several measuring prisms.
The instrument base must be horizontal to avoid movement of the
slit lamp with attached measuring prism moves towards the patient.
This is of particular importance, when you take tonometric
measurements without locking the instrument base.
Therefore, we recommend that you always clamp the instrument
base as soon as the measuring prism touches the cornea.
Observe the manual of the instrument AT 020 or AT 030 Applanation
Tonometer.
Gonioscopy
Contact lenses must be disinfected and undamaged.
For gonioscopy, the three-mirror contact lens is used.
To cover different angular ranges, you can vary the illumination angle
relative to the horizontal between 0° and 20°. For this, turn the
knurled ring on the prism head. A scale permits the inclination angle
to be set reproducibly.
Caution
Make sure not to turn on forcibly when you reach the mechanical stop
while adjusting the tilting prism head.
