The CDE chlorine dioxide sensor is a diaphragm-covered amperometric dual
electrode measurement sensor. The chlorine dioxide sensor is used to
determine chlorine dioxide concentrations in surfactant-free water. Typical
applications for the type CDE 2 include the disinfection of drinking and
brewing water. The type CDE 3 is used in the chlorine dioxide treatment of
hot water of quality similar to drinking water up to 60 °C (e.g. combat against
legionellae). The sensor delivers a standard 4 - 20 mA signal via a two-wire
interface that is largely unaffected by water flow. Power is also supplied to
the sensor via the two-wire interface.
