• The heater plates are reversible, with
a choice of a grooved or smooth
surface.
• To change the surface type or take out
the plates in order to clean them, just
press the plate-holder clip back (g)
and lift up the plate. (Fig. 5)
• To put the plate back, fit it into the
plate-holder guides (h), and press it
down until it is correctly fixed and
held in place by the rim.
• To change the upper plate, the grill
should be placed in 180º position.
5. FUNCTIONING
• Stand the grill on a flat horizontal heat-
proof surface, away from the edge of
the table or work surface. Make sure
the cable is not hanging over the edge
of the table or work surface and that is
not underneath the grill.
• Select the plate surface type, grooved
or smooth.
• Plug in the appliance and select the
desired cooking temperature using the
temperature switch (c). This switch has
a stop position (0) and 5 cooking
options with higher or lower
temperatures according to the food to
be cooked.
• The on/off indicator light (b) will come
on when the appliance is connected if
the temperature switch is in any
position from 1 to 5. It goes out when
the plates have reached the selected
temperature. The grill will then go off
and on automatically in order to
maintain the plate temperature
constant. At the same time, the on/off
indicator light will go on and off.
• When the plates have reached the
desired temperature, select the plate
working position as described in the
previous paragraph and place the food
on the plates.
WARNING: ALWAYS USE THE HANDLES
TO MOVE THE GRILL. DO NOT TOUCH
THE APPLIANCE WHEN IT IS SWITCHED
ON TO AVOID RISK OF BURNS.
• The time needed to cook the food varies
depending on the type of food and

personal preference. It is therefore
convenient to observe the cooking
process when first using the grill, in
order to determine the most suitable
times.
• Some internal parts of the grill are
lightly greased, and as a result of this
the grill may give off a small amount of
smoke when it is used for the first time.
This will last for a few moments only.
• Do not use metallic or sharp utensils on
the food being cooked, as they may
damage the non-stick surface of the
plates.
• Cut the food as evenly as possible, to
ensure correct cooking.
• If you want a grill-type mark to appear on
the food from the grooved plates, turn the
food over halfway through the cooking
time.
• If the food gives off a lot of fat, place a
container under the overflow (i), in order
to avoid the table or work surface being
stained.
• As a general rule, fish should be salted
before cooking, and meat after cooking.
• Clean the meat or fish with a damp cloth
and dry thoroughly, as if this is not done
the water will reduce the heat
transmission.
• The plates should be greased with a little
margarine or olive oil. If you wish to crisp
the food, use the roasting tin provided
with the appliance.

7. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning the grill, unplug it and
leave it to cool down completely.
When it has cooled down, wipe both the
plates with a damp cloth with non-abrasive
detergent. Clean the outside of the
appliance with a soft, damp cloth.
If the plates need to be cleaned more
thoroughly, remove them from the grill and
leave them to soak for a few hours. They
may also be washed in the dishwasher.
