Initial Operation
Always use the correct supply voltage: The
voltage specifications on the rating plate must
correspond with the mains voltage. Equipment
marked with 230 V can also be connected to
220 V.
Switching on and off
To switch on:
Press ON/OFF switch 6.
To switch off:
Release ON/OFF switch 6.
Continuous use
Switching on: Press ON-OFF switch 6 and retain
with locking button 7.
Switching off: Press
switch 6.
Stepless RPM Control
Light pressure on the ON-OFF
switch 6 results in low rotational
speed, thus allowing drilling to be-
gin in a smooth, controlled manner.
Further pressure on the switch re-
sults in an increase in speed.
Changing rotational direc-
tion
Set rotational direction selector 5 to
R (right or clockwise) or L (left or an-
ticlockwise). (Rotational direction
selector 5 is locked when ON-OFF
switch 6 is activated).
Operate the rotational direction switch 5 only
at a standstill.
Changing Tools
To change the screwdriver blade 1, pull off the
depth stop 2 to the front. The preselected screw-
ing depth is altered as a result.
Depth Stop
With the adjustment collar 3, the screwing depth
of the screw head in the material can be prese-
lected in 8 indented steps per revolution (of
0.2 mm each):
Slide the adjustment collar 3 forward to the stop.
Set screwing depth by rotating the adjustment
collar 3:

and release ON-OFF
Clockwise = Increased screwing depth.
Counter-clockwise = Decreased screwing depth.
Then slide the adjustment collar 3 backward to
the stop.
The required setting can best be determined by a
trial screw driving.
The screw is held by the magnetic universal
holder (Type GSR 6-25 TE / GSR 6-40 TE).
Press the point of the screw firmly against the ma-
terial to be screwed until the depth stop 2 rests
against the material and the screw driving insert
disengages.
To loosen screws, set the reversing switch 5 to
counter-clockwise and pull off the depth stop 2 to
the front.
Belt clip
With the belt clip 4 , the machine can be hung
onto a belt. The user has both hands free and the
machine is always at hand.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep
the machine and the ventilation slots clean.
If the machine should happen fail despite the care
taken in manifacture and testing, repair should be
carried out by an authorised customer services
agent for BOSCH power tools.
For all correspondence and spare parts orders,
always include the 10 digit order number of the
machine!
WARNING! Important instructions for con-
necting a new 3-pin plug to the 2 wire cable.
The wires in the cable are coloured according to
the following code:
strain relief
live = brown
neutral = blue
Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the earth
terminal of the plug.
Important: If for any reason the plug is cut off of
the cable of this machine, it must be disposed of
safely and not left unattended.
