Maintenance
It is easy to maintain the Infratec Sofia. The instrument enclosure is sealed to prevent
contamination of critical modules, which keeps maintenance to a minimum.
DO NOT attempt to open the instrument enclosure. There are no user-serviceable
parts inside the instrument enclosure. Damage is not covered under warranty.

General Cleaning
By cleaning the instrument regularly, excessive dust build-up is avoided which
lowers the risk of blockage.
Wipe the instrument cabinet with a cloth on a regular basis. Do not use any chemicals
to clean the instrument (only dilute soap and water solution is allowed).
A soft cloth and water can be used for cleaning most surfaces. However, glass
surfaces can only be cleaned using a solution of 50% deionized water and 50%
spectrographic alcohol.
It is possible to use a vacuum cleaner, with a soft brush attachment, to remove
threshings and dirt from the Sample Handling Wheel (SHW). Care must be taken to
avoid scratching the glass surfaces.
Caution
Do not move the SHW under any circumstances when the power
supply is connected to the instrument. This will damage the
motor connected to the SHW.
1.
Disconnect power supply to the instrument.
2.
Remove the drawer and remove/discard any grain kernels. If necessary, remove
any remaining threshing or dirt using the instrument cleaning brush.
