PLEASE NOTE: Always keep the module connected to the charging adapter until use.
This is because the module is activated as soon as it is removed from the charging adapter
and will start to send alerts. It is not possible to 'overcharge' the arm module; there is no
harm in leaving the arm module connected to the charging adapter.
5.3 Step 3: Using the base station
Ensure that the (activated) arm module is connected to the charging adapter. Position the
base station where you want to receive the alert and ensure it is connected to a power
supply.
After approximately 30 seconds, green LED 4 will light up continuously on the base station
('arm module connected to charging adapter') and green LED 5 will start to blink ('arm
module battery is charging'). Once the arm module is fully charged, green LED 5 will also light
up continuously.
Your system is now ready for use.
5.4 Daily use
Roll up the wearer's pyjama sleeves, if necessary.
-
Disconnect the armband from the charging adapter. The two green LEDs on the
-
EN
darker underside of the arm module will immediately light up brightly.
Straight after disconnecting from the charging adapter, the base station will emit a
-
warning signal indicating that no heartbeat has been detected yet.
The red LED on the base station and the armband will blink red to indicate that no
-
heartbeat has been detected yet.
Place the armband around the upper arm, between the shoulder and the biceps, with
-
the arm module facing forward on the upper arm so that the wearer will not lie on it
when lying on his/her side.
The base station will now blink green when the heartbeat is detected.
-
Move the pyjama sleeve back down the arm if necessary.
-
The wearer will now go to sleep. When the wearer is in a horizontal position and the
-
arm module has not detected movement for 2 minutes, the more sensitive
movement and heartbeat algorithms become active. When this occurs, the blinking
green LED for the heartbeat changes to a continuous green LED.
If the wearer rises or climbs out of bed, the more sensitive movement and heartbeat
-
algorithms will be temporarily switched off, until the wearer is once again horizontal
and at rest.
See 'Signals from the arm module and the base station' for all signals and what to do in
case of issues.
