5.2. OPERATION: CONNECTING A VACUUM HEAD
Dirt deposited on the bottom of the pool can be vacuumed by connecting a vacuum head. To connect a vacuum
head, follow these steps:
•
Place the pump switch in the OFF position (disconnection) (fig. 21).
•
Place the CLOSED tabs of valves A in the PORT 3 position and B in the PORT 3 position respectively
(vacuum head position). Remember that the position is indicated by the CLOSED tab (fig. 19).
•
Remove the plug of the vacuum head suction inlet and connect the vacuum head hose (not supplied
with the equipment) to the suction inlet (fig. 24). IMPORTANT: before connecting the hose, first fill it with water.
•
To start the suction operation, place the timer switch in position I (fig. 20) and place the pump switch in
the ON position (connection) (fig. 21).
•
After cleaning the bottom of the pool, stop the pump by placing the pump switch in the OFF position
(disconnection) (fig. 21). Disconnect the vacuum head and put back the plug to cover the suction nozzle (fig.
24).
•
Place the valves back in the filtering position. If you wish to start regular automatic filtration, leave the
timer switch in position II (automatic filtration) and leave the pump switch in the ON position again (connection).
5.3. OPERATION: EMPTYING THE POOL
It is possible to empty almost all of the pool with the filtration unit. To empty the pool, follow these steps:
•
Place the pump switch in the OFF position (disconnection) (fig. 21).
•
Place the CLOSED tabs of valves A in the PORT 3 position and B in the PORT 2 position respectively
(drain position). Remember that the position is indicated by the CLOSED tab (fig. 19).
•
Remove the plug from the suction inlet of the vacuum head and connect the suction hose (not supplied
with the equipment) (fig. 24).
•
Weigh down the end of the suction hose with a heavy object which will not damage the bottom of the
pool in order to sink it to the bottom.
•
To start up the suction operation, place the timer switch in position I (fig. 20) and place the pump switch
in the ON position (connection) (fig. 21). VERY IMPORTANT
•
When there are still a few centimetres of water in the pool and the pump is no longer suctioning
water, the pump should be switched off by placing the pump switch in (disconnection) (fig. 21). If the
pump is operated without water it many become seriously damaged.
•
Once the operation of emptying the pool has finished, disconnect the hose and replace the plug to cover
the suction nozzle.
•
Leave the pump switch in the OFF position (disconnection) (fig. 21).
5.4. OPERATION: SWIMMING POOL LIGHTING
The compact filtration unit is fitted with an underwater light to illuminate the swimming pool. To turn it on or off,
simply press the pneumatic switch of the light located at the back of the filtration box (fig. 25).
The light is designed to be totally submerged in freshwater swimming pools. It is a class III electrical
apparatus with a very low safety voltage (12 V with alternate current).
The light meets the IPX8 protection standard (resistant to the penetration of dust, solid bodies and moisture)
with a nominal immersion depth of 2 m. The light meets international lighting safety standards, particularly
standard EN 60598-2-18. LUMINAIRES PART 2: PARTICULAR REQUIREMENTS SECTION 18 LUMINAIRES
FOR SWIMMING POOLS AND SIMILAR APPLICATIONS.
VERY IMPORTANT
Never switch on the underwater light if it is not submerged in water, otherwise the lamp may become seriously
damaged.
