The KIT AC-MAX 2 DOORS (Fig. 10) allows:
-
2 doors with 2 Wiegand readers (1 Wiegand input reader, per door)
-
2 doors with 4 Wiegand readers (1 Wiegand input reader and 1 Wiegand output reader, per
door)
-
2 doors with 2 fingerprint readers (RS485) (1 fingerprint reader (RS485) input, per door)
-
2 doors with 4 fingerprint readers (RS485) (1 input fingerprint reader (RS485) and 1 reader
reader output footprint, per door)
The AC-MAX 4 DOORS KIT (Fig. 11) allows:
-
4 doors with 4 Wiegand readers (1 Wiegand input reader, per door)
-
4 doors with 4 fingerprint readers (RS485) (1 fingerprint reader (RS485) input, per door)
-
4 doors with 8 fingerprint readers (RS485) (1 input fingerprint reader (RS485) and 1 reader
reader output fingerprint per door)
Power supply
PWR2D/4D (AC-MAX) power supply unit is recommended to provide 13.8Vdc supply to EXP2D/4D
expander. However, it is possible to use other types of power supply if it offers adequate voltage and current
parameters. Due to relatively high current between expander and power supply, all connections should be
made using possibly short cables with adequate cross sections. PWRxD series PWRs (AC-MAX) are
offered with two 30cm/1mm² cables dedicated to supply the expander.
Backup battery
EXP2D/4D enables battery charging with 0.3A or 0.6A current up to the level of voltage supplied to the
expander (nominal 13.8Vdc). The current is selected with jumpers. When battery voltage drops to
approximately 10Vdc then it is disconnected from expander. The battery is reconnected when the 13.8Vdc
supply to expander is restored. In order to ensure battery charging up to 80% level within 24h (according to
EN 60839 standard) following current settings must be applied:
•
0.3A for 7Ah battery
•
0.6A for 17Ah battery
RS485 communication bus distribution (FPAC-MAX)
EXP2D is an addressable device connected to RS485 communication bus of the central. The bus is
distributed to each controlled door. Prior to connection, the expander must be addressed. The same applies
to readers, taking into account that addresses of all devices on RS485 bus must be unique in range of
101..115. Addressing is done within low level configuration by means of AC-MAX HW software.
