Safety instructions
For connection and functioning
•
The units are built according to the relevant safety
regulations
•
The mains connection, servicing and repairs of
the units may be carried out only by an authorised
expert in compliance with the valid safety
regulations. The same applies to the connections
for the extracted air. For more instructions, please
consult the "Mounting instructions" chapter.
•
An equipment, which makes it possible to separate
it from the mains with a contact opening width of at
least 3 mm from all poles, must be provided for
connecting the unit. The MCB (miniature circuit
breaker), fuses, automatic fuses and contactors
are applicable as suitable separators.
•
If the unit is connected using plugs, they must
be accessible even after mounting the unit!
•
The connection cable must not be brought in
contact with hot cooking areas. Ensure that the
cables do not get jammed or damaged.
•
It is recommended that you install a cable guard.
For more information, consult the instructions in
the "Mounting Instructions" chapter.
•
Work that has been performed improperly
endangers your safety.
•
The unit may be repaired only by a certified
electrician or the responsible customer service.
•
If the mains connection line of this unit is damaged,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer or his/her
customer service or an equally qualified person so
as to avoid dangers.
For the hob extractor
•
Caution: accessible parts can become hot if they
are used with cooking utensils. Hence, waste heat
of the hobs can be transferred to the cover frame
of the hob extractor when cooking.
•
Do not place hot pots and pans on the hob
extractor.
•
You must switch off the hob extractor after use.
•
The extraction of hazardous and/or explosive
materials or fumes is strictly prohibited.
•
Ensure sufficient ventilation if the hob extractor is
simultaneously operated with gas-burning or other
fuel-burning units!
•
When operating the hob extractor and furnaces
simultaneously, the negative pressure may not be
greater than 4 Pa (4 x 10
room of the furnaces. Safety-related equipment
(e.g. window contact switch, negative pressure
controller) must always be used. Moreover, the
extracted air must not be directed into a chimney
that is used for waste gases of units, which are
operated with gas or other fuels.
This must be checked and approved by an
authorised person (e.g. chimney sweep).
•
The official regulations must be adhered to when
dissipating the extracted air.

bar) in the installation
•
Operation in combination with a BORA Gas
Cooktop is permissible only if the air deflector
included in the scope of supply of the gas cooktop
is attached. This prevents distortion or extinction of
the flame and improves the extraction behaviour.
•
Gas cooktops of other manufacturers/types must
not be operated and this is explicitly forbidden.
•
A grill or a chip pan may be used in combination
with this unit only under constant supervision! Risk
of fire! Hot fats and oils can catch fire.
•
Prepare food containing fats and oils only under
supervision. Never put out inflamed fats and oils
with water! Place a cover, isolate cooking zones.
•
Dishes/food must not be flambéd when operating
the unit!
•
Ensure that hard objects do not fall on the hob
extractor and the accessory touch control. Point
loads can also lead to damage.
•
The unit must be switched off immediately in case
of breakages, clefts, cracks on or other damage
to the touch control.
•
If the hob extractor cannot be switched off due
to a defect in the sensor control, switch off the
household security system immediately and call
the customer service.
•
In principle, damaged units may not be operated.
In case of damage, contact your dealer or
responsible customer service immediately.
•
Exercise caution when working with household
units! Connection lines must not come in contact
with the hot cooking zones.
•
The hob extractor may not be used as shelf space.
•
Ensure that no objects (e.g. cleaning rag) are in
the immediate vicinity of the hob extractor.
They can be sucked in due to the air current.
Fluids and small parts must be essentially kept
away from the unit.
•
Keep the sensor buttons clean as the dirt on
the unit is noticeable because of the finger prints.
Never place any objects (pots, tea cloths, etc.)
on the sensor buttons!
•
If pots boil over the sensor buttons, we recommend
you to actuate the Off button.
•
The filter change intervals must be adhered to
without fail. In addition, the stainless steel grease
filter must be cleaned in the dishwasher at least
once a week. In case of non-observance, there
is a danger of fire, especially in case of grease
deposits!
•
Never use the hob extractor without a stainless
steel grease filter!
•
Never clean the unit with a steam or high-pressure
cleaner - for more information, see chapter
"Cleaning and maintenance".
