INSTRUCTION MANUAL
WARNING:
Before using the device read all the instructions carefully.
WARNING
1 - This converter operates when connected to any cigar-lighter
socket: of a car, of a boat, of a Telwin Jump-Start or Speed Start
with 12Vdc output voltage and it supplies an alternating voltage
of 230Vac. It is suitable for powering electrical and electronic
appliances such as power supplies for: mobile phones,
computers, cameras, video cameras, lighting devices etc.
2 - Do not power at 6Vdc or at 24Vdc.
3 - Do not invert the positive and negative cables of the converter
input.
4 - It is forbidden and dangerous to connect the AC output of the
converter to an AC power supply input.
5 - It is absolutely forbidden and dangerous to connect the
converter and supply electricity to a main supply system in a
building.
6 - Using this converter without a proper earth connection could
give rise to dangerous situations.
7 - To guarantee safety against indirect contacts, it is necessary to
insert a differential switch (RCD) after the converter AC output,
check that the negative battery pole is earthed or connected to
the earth potential, that could be the bodywork, vehicle earth.
Connect the converter chassis to the earth potential, vehicle
bodywork earth using the converter earth clamp. Connect one
of the two phase conductors (which will become the neutral N)
of the plug connected to the converter AC socket to the earthing
point; this connection must be performed in the section of the
conductor that connects the converter AC socket to the RCD
device. Connect the chassis of the user devices to the earthing
point via a suitably sized conductor.
Always seek the assistance of a qualified electrician and check
the local safety regulations to ensure correct installation.
8 - Do not use the converter for long periods with the vehicle
engine switched off; it may discharge the battery completely.
9 - Switch off the appliances connected to the 230Vac socket of the
converter before taking the plug out of the cigar-lighter socket.
10 - Replace the fuse only and exclusively with fuses of the same
size. Using fuses taking more current may cause permanent
damage to the converter and the cigar-lighter socket in the
vehicle.
11 - Make sure that the contacts in the cigar-lighter socket of the
vehicle are clean and dust-free; imperfect electrical connections
may produce harmful, dangerous heat at the contact point.
12 - This converter supplies an alternating voltage of 230Vac; there
is a danger of electric shock. Do not insert metal objects that
conduct electricity into the outlet sockets.
13 -
Keep out of reach of children.
14 - Make sure that the converter ventilation slots are not obstructed
during use; the surrounding temperature should be between
10°C and 40°C.
15 - Do not leave the converter in the sun when in operation.
16 - Protect it from water.
17 - It is not suitable for powering appliances designed to produce
heat such as: hairdryers, coffee machines, irons, electric
stoves, toasters etc.
18 - Do not use the converter near inflammable material or in places
where inflammable gas or fumes have accumulated such as in
vehicles near the battery seating.
19 - Do not use the converter in a dusty environment or in the
presence of filings or shavings.
20 - Do not open the case of the converter for any reason
whatsoever.

INSTALLATION and OPERATION
Insert the converter plug into the cigar-lighter socket of the vehicle,
of the boat or of the Telwin Jump-Start or Speed Start, making sure
that the voltage is 12Vdc; it is also possible to connect two cables
with corresponding crocodile clips to be attached directly to the
terminals of a 12Vdc battery as shown in fig. A, B. Make sure all
the DC connections are locked tightly so as to guarantee a perfect
electrical contact. Connect the apparatus to earth or to the chassis of
the vehicle (fig. A, B).Turn the converter switch to the "ON" position.
Insert the plug of the appliance to be powered into the output socket
of the converter. The inside of the converter contains an overload
relay that triggers when the maximum available power is exceeded.
When the converter has triggered due to overload the output will
automatically be switched off; to restore operation it is necessary to
reduce the absorbed power.
The converter has a protection fuse housed in the car lighter plug
which can break if overloaded; to replace the fuse see fig. C. There
are more fuses in the rear part of the container see fig. D, E.
The converter absorbs a very low current; it is however advisable to
disconnect it from the car lighter socket when the vehicle or Jump-
Starter is not used for more than 24 hours.
The converter (300W) is equipped with 2 USB outlets in parallel
which, in total, supply maximum 1A.
