GENERAL PRESCRIPTIONS
• Check there is oil in the pump by looking at the oil indicator on the rear cover.
• Make sure the pipes are not clogged and are free from waste.
• Make sure that the intake line is connected and the pump primed. For no reason whatsoever must
the pump work dry – this is to avoid burning the pressure gaskets.
• Check alignment and tightness of the motion transmission elements.
• Make sure that all moving part protections are in place and fixed correctly: joint covers, mechanical
seal protections, electric motor fan cover, etc.
• Do not start the pump before having connected the intake and delivery pipes which must be
watertight, and open the circuit feed gate valve if installed.
STARTING THE PUMP
• Start the pump with no load at all, position the pressure valve on "0"
• Let the pump work for a certain length of time, until the oil flows sufficiently.
• Increase pressure gradually with the regulating valve. The pressure reached must be less than the
safety valve's calibration pressure.
• If the safety valve is not installed, the Manufacturer is not liable for any damage to the pump.
STOPPING THE PUMP
Each time, before stopping the pump, reset pressure by way of the regulating valve or with a discharge
device if installed.
LEAKAGE
During functioning the pressure gaskets leak a minimum quantity of water (intermittent drops).
This leakage is completely normal and lubricates the gaskets.
A channel under the pump body is used to get rid of the water that has leaked
PERMITTED FLUIDS
The pumps has been designed to pump clean water at ambient temperature.
Other liquids of the same viscosity must be approved by the Manufacturer's After-Sales Service.
The pump must always work under the hydrostatic head (max. 3 bar).
TEMPERATURE
Permitted water temperature is 40° C.
Warning: supply water temperature is a vitally important factor for pump life and performance.
To use water at higher temperatures, up to 60°C, observe the following installation instructions:
• Feed the piston pump with a centrifugal pump whose rate is twice that of the piston pump and at
